I would recommend the paid subscription for Avast. You might want to consider it.

Windows Defender for me.
I don't use third party antivirus applications. They often tamper with my Outlook mails. I often find emails that get filtered unnecessarily. Windows Defender is sufficient in itself.
I think, Windows Defender does it best. No dramas, no purchase pop ps and still restricts and removes most of the malwares.

Avira and Avast are the best nowadays....light and secure.
I use Malwarebytes Premium and it does the job
Windows defender and occasional scan using Symantec scanner (which will highlight any malware found but not remove). If I need to download any files from unknown sites I download to a virtual machine first, if something goes wrong its lot easier to rollback the virtual image.
No one uses bitdefender?
Like others have said, I would stay away from Norton personally. Some of my friends use Norton and I've noticed that on numerous occasions false positives have occurred (on perfectly normal files I have sent) which is a huge pain as the file is removed automatically. Someone may be able to correct me, but I believe Norton uses a whitelist system (if it hasn't seen it before and looks suspicious, remove it) this seems to occur frequently on .exe files with few downloads.
Personally, I have used Eset Nod 32 for the past 10 or so years and find that it works great. No scanner is ever 100% effective, but I find that it provides the best all around protection for the price. I also use malwarebytes and hitman pro (free versions) but they do not provide active scanning so I can't comment on the paid-for versions.
I, personally, can say the Symantec ( business products ) work well, however, the Norton line never seemed as good!
+1 for Eset Nod32 (though I use the full Smart Security, never failed me).
I use Windows Antivirus + Malwarebytes. Has not failed me yet.
avast is my choice and i recommend you to install it on your operating system.
i using it on my pc.
and batter than paid antivirus.
