    Windows 7 beta x64 screen issue 7900GT

    system
    AMD Opteron 165
    A8N32-SLI
    2GB Corsair (2X1GB)
    EVGA 7900GT Core 500Mhz/Mem 750Mhz
    CRT 19" Iiyama VMpro451

The default screen resolution is 1024x768@60hz - the flicker is "doing my head in"

Problem: if I try and change the resolution or refresh rate the screen corrupts, the screen is filled with shades of blue and I cannot read anything.

Looking on some forums it appear a similar issue ocurred with vista http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion...hp?t41867.html

I've download the lastest vista x64 driver for the video card verison 181.20 (might remove these) - no joy.

The issue might be a factory overclocked card so I've also tried using this utility to set the core and mem to 450/660 - no joy http://www.nvidia.com/object/sysutility.html

    Anyone any ideas?

Re: Windows 7 beta x64 screen issue 7900GT

    Solved:

Setting the standard stock Core and mem speeds did work, but I didn't realise as when windows boots up the card reverts back to the overclocked speeds. Windows now boots up with a resolution of 1280x1024@85hz but will still corrupt if I amend the resolution or refresh rate unless I amend the Core and mem speeds first.

I need some way of automatically changing the speeds at boot up.
