The price is literally going mad... Nearly at $17000
Companies (Steam in the article) are beginning to reject Bitcoin for payment:

I've heard rumours that some gold bullion brokers aren't accepting Bitcoin either now, but can't find anything on it at the moment. It's possible if enough companies/organistions get cold feet about Bitcoin it could cause a run/crash/correction on Bitcoin, but again this is speculation too.
Edit:
Just saw Mark's article on the hexus homepage: http://hexus.net/business/news/inter...-option-steam/

If there is a crash and it drops, then I suspect the buying frenzy will just start again.
Yes maybe although it has had a moderate sell off at the moment, currently at $15000 again. I think Bitcoin is getting too much coverage to crash out catastrophically at the moment... Maybe when media moves on to something else it'll be open to more movement down, but who can say really lol.
The Bitcoin price surge/correction is the third most read story on BBC news: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-42275564 at the moment. I'm keeping my eye on Ethereum, I wouldn't be surprised if that was next to go through the roof though probably not as high as Bitcoin.
I can't look back through this thread, it will just remind me of what i used to sell them for...it would have been nice to pay my mortgage off....
Typical, I started mining recently, was enjoying the ~£16/day made from my 1080 Ti and 2 x 1070's (haven't yet added my old R9 390X)... and then someone took a dump on the BTC value!
Still, at it's current price I can still earn a few hundred a month, it'll just take a little longer to break even on the cost of the cards.
Anyone else still mining, and how are you doing? Rig specs?
An interesting article on Bloomberg about Bitcoin and speculating the bubble has burst:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...-s-big-bubbles
all the recent regulation issues [ Korea , china, France] wavecrest cards going [gib] , does not help ...
some of us are in it for the long haul
Looks like BTC is about to drop below $10000, wonder if that will have a psychological effect.
Not really that big a deal, BTC has had large drops in the past and every time it has, its bounced right back and at a higher value.
The price will drop as those not familiar with Bitcoin / Crypto's in general will panic at seeing the price drop.
Yea can't keep up, Coindesk is speculating about BTC testing below $8000..
