cant delete folders / files

on one of the harddrives in my computer a few files have decided to make it so i cannot delete them only problem is they are taking up 10gb of space which i need. the folders cant be opened i get access denied error. trying to delete give some error. looking at properties they are read only but i try and turn it off and i cant it just stays on any ideas guys or any programs that can delete it

Have you tried deleting in safe mode? Posting more info about the folder's name and location may help.

all the folders in on E:/ in the base dir they are all call different things most at albums ive ripped and movies on further inspection they seem to take up no room wat so ever :S but they cant be deleted

will try safemode soon i am currently rearranging my pc

I had a folder for quite a while that refused to delete.
Then I stumbled across a program called Unlocker which installs and intergrates into explorer. Then simply right click the file or folder and select Unlocker and it will stop whatever is preventing it from being deleted.

Got rid of my folder in seconds.

Sure its not system restore ?
Disable and re-enable it if this is the case

well unlocker is installed and it errors when i try. i dotn have system restore on i cant stand it.
