Bummer.... I hope you got some dosh off the labour costs?
I had my first real off on the new bike on Tuesday... damned snow was filling a rut and it ate my front wheel.
Snowdrifts are blummin cold things to land head first in

Snow hiding ruts is a sod. I so nearly came off when we had the snow due to that exact same thing. Hit the rut, front wheel stopped and I ended up doing an endo. Luckily for me I was only doing about 5mph at the time so it wasn't a show stopper, but it quite easily could have been! You got a lot of snow at the moment then?
Not any more.. it was just that one night really, started snowing just as we got the bikes out of the van and carried on until the wee hours... there was a good 6 inches down under the trees by the time we all got too cold and baled though - really odd riding through driving snow/rain with a helmet light on though - Star Wars moments

I've had a few offs riding in snow myself, not pleasant at all when belting down a hill and you hit a rut... Last one went over the top at about 25ish in cannock, but luckily landed in a load of ferns.. Still bloomin cold though to land in the snow
Thinking about hitting Llandegla this weekend or maybe the next - nice 6 am start to get there early
Yeah I was thnking about going to the alps.
My local bike club, has planned a 7 day trip to Les Arcs and other parts with this company

They've booked it all now, so looks like I wont be going with them, had too much on to even think about that really.. But hey ho - got a few mates who are interested, so might book something with them!
I went up to Les Arcs a few years ago in July for mountain biking and it was amazing, getting your bike on the ski lifts is awkward, but you get used to it. While at one of the highest points in the area we were actually riding through a snow storm in July! The time up there killed my bike though, went through 2 sets of brake pads and a wheel in 1 week.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
Yeah really like the sound of Les Arcs tbh! Some of the best singletrack in the world so they say!!
Yeah defo would end up taking enough spares, pads/chain/mech if needed!! would be mad not to take kit with you - I use Hope M4 on sintered pads, which actually do me quite well, as long as there bed in correctly
Might be doing Cody on Sunday
Wahooo Summers coming
Did a couple of laps of the Viking trail at South Barrule on the weekend.. out tonight for a bit of Urban bashing
