    Re: Mountain Bike thread?

I had a shock riding into work today - the bolt clamping the saddle to the seat post snapped while I was riding along at about 18mph. Fortunately I was on a cycle path as my clothing made for improvised brake pads on the tarmac. Scary. I guess that's what I get for riding a bike hard for nearly 14 years without replacing the seatpost.

Similar thing happened to my house mate a while back (his seatpost actually snapped in half, at the point where it enters the frame), while riding round a roundabout. The other half of the seatpost is still stuck in the frame, so he's been riding it around for the past few months with no seat on

    Re: Mountain Bike thread?

I used to own a Saracen Awol until it was taken without my consent

Was looking at a Kona Stinky after that, but never came round to buying it.

Wish I could afford a new bike I miss the riding

Sounds like you need a Thomson Elite seatpost. Perfect excuse to buy one

La Pierre bikes are some of the best bikes money can buy - highly thinking about selling my Orange 5 to fund or part fund one of those.. some of the best full sus bikes in the world imo!

always been a fan of intense, not so keen on the yeti bikes, but i think thats just preference!

friend of mine had a 5.5 and he said it was the dog's danglies.

currently looking at a spicy 916 - though at 4k its a hell of a lot of money!!!

    Nice one..

I need another mountain bike soon i think..i've been riding this really expensive top of the range bike for the last two years now (34.95 GBP Terrain bike from Tesco)...i've never been able to fix the gears though (stuck in a decent gear though).
