Follow some of Nerdfitness's guides tbh, there is tons of really good info for us geeks on both diet and exercise, but yeah, weights are a really good place to start.
Wow (shadowsong): Arthran, Arthra, Arthrun, Amyle (I know, I'm inventive with names)
do the plank!!
that will work your back, arms and really tone up your stomach and butt. Every time i do the plank, i automatically see a difference. Well at least within the day.
diet is obv a factor, perhaps stop drinking alcohol if you do. When i stopped drinnking red wine there way a HUGE difference.
ive just fount that little things usually are what really effect the over all outcome.
try adding some delish low carb meals to your diet that. you obv like indian food, so with this it can def be very easy.
Only way to lose fat is dieting, cardio and a little bit of stomach exercise. Cardio is the best but once you get into it nothing less than 30 min and you need to get your heart rate up for that time.
The way I do it is I take my age off 220 which comes to 168. I try and get my heart rate between 148 and 168 for minimum 30 min. But dieting is also essential
JABULANI NONKE
Here are some tips:
Drink black coffee 30min before workout (caffeine releases some of the fat into the bloodstream which then gets burnt)
On the treadmill, do the intensity workout (ie high speed short intervals (1-2min), then normal speed at 3-4mins)
Try plank and bridge exercises.
Drink lots of water (4x500ml bottles a day).
Cold water on an empty stomach in the morning.
Drink water 30mins before lunch/dinner (not during or right after. If you must after, then drink 30mins after eating)
Eat a fibery breakfast.
Eat apples (fiber + little caffeine)
Avoid sodas, fried food, alcohol.
Have white eggs (avoid the yolk of the second++ egg), will provide the protein.
Got married 3 weeks ago ( woohoo ) and my other half is supermodel slim. Her secret ? Eat less. e.g. for breakfast , she has 1/4 of a roti whereas normal people have a full roti ( just giving an example )
Now, eat less does not mean eat nothing at all. Just eat smaller portions and no ice-cream, coke, cake, lamb or beef.
I have been following my wife's eating style and I have lost 6 kilos. Used to be 70kg, now I am 64 kg . The belly still looks bloated, will do ab crunches to squeeze it in.
Anotehr thing that people do wong is how they wear their belt at work with their trousers. Your belt must be 1cm below your naval. If you wear it more near your pipeline, your belly will squeeze out.

Best advice so far.
I've lost 6 to 7 kilos in the last 6/12 months not by doing extra exercise but by sticking to my patented 'Eat for one' diet.
I still stuff my face but just the one face.
Cutting out the sugar and checking how much fat and sugar is hiding in your foods (even the 'healthy' options) is essential.
As for exercise, swimming. Swimming is bar far the best form of all round exercise IMO.
Grab that. Get that. Check it out. Bring that here. Grab anything useful. Take anything good.
Yup, all the "magic rules" (i.e. don't eat/drink at certain times etc.) make no difference, your body can adapt to pretty much any eating pattern so you just have to eat less. Most of the diets that "work" are just ways of tricking you into eating less without feeling hungry.
Isn't there a saying 'eat less, move more'.
It sums it up In the end if you use more energy than you take in you'll start to lose weight, diet plays a massive role in weight loss.
Try a low fat, plant based diet for a couple of weeks. At the very least, stop buying pre-made food if possible. And cut out the deserts. Just swap them for raw fruit. I don't know whether these meals you're eating are made by yourself from raw ingredients, or just pre made things you just chuck in the oven. The latter will cause your body more problems. Try and keep your food as basic as possible. Good luck
Edit: Damn, I just realised how old this thread was lol!!

Hit 143lbs fully clothed the other day- must be all this 'bike riding' i'm doing. Think I'll have to start putting 'on' some weight now as winter is approaching also 'flu' bugs.
Guys can anybody tell me that is really swimming effect to lose body weight. Because I heard from someone and after that day i start swimming because I don't like other kind of hard exercises.
Swimming's pretty good - low impact and works most of the body. But it won't do much for muscle tone, so you might finds you lose weight but still look a bit flabby. I've recently taking up climbing (alongside my regular biking and occasional swimming) and am both absolutely loving it, and finding it's firming up all the upper body bits that I just wasn't hitting hard enough with the swimming.
Of course, if your first concern is shedding the weight then swimming's a great place to start But it might be worth considering supplementing it with something else down the line.
Climbing is awesome for getting some muscles built and it complements something like swimming well. You can even combine the two and go deep water soloing.
Wish I could climb atm, alas my leg is preventing it.
I have lost nearly 4 stone in over the last 14 months. Calorie counting was the way for me, initially using myfittnesspal to educate myself on where I was going wrong. Very basically reduce portion sizes and hit about 1800/1900 cals a day, for a fella, and you will lose around a 1 1/2 to 2 pounds per week. Repeat to fade. I no longer have a fat belly.
Best of luck dieters, just get started, thats the hardest part imo.
