If you are weightlifting you are working on creation of new muscles, no? Fat is burnt but not as intensively as from cardio (I am not a pro, just speaking basing on my personal experience)
Body by Science is a good book explaining a lot of that.
Also the paleosphere, stuff like that by Mark Sisson and Robb Wolf.
The way bodybuilders loose fat is through the cutting (diet) phase. By going on a calorific deficit. Too much cardio will affect gains.
i have been on weight watchers and lost 2 stone last year. i have made changes and one was to skimmed pro active milk which doesn't taste to bad and it reduces calestorol too. try that.
i'm going back to WW next wk as i just need the regiment. i play football twice a week and on a thursday when i go drinking with the boys, we cycle most weeks and do around 20k between pubs off road too, we mountain bike. my arcylles heal is haribo. must stop eating haribo.
I'm stuffling a cake into my mouth as I type this so I think thats the #1 issue right there.

Enter an Ironman, and follow the Don Fink training plan. You can eat and drink whatever the hell you like and the weight will still fall off.

5 years on, no change , despite changing my eating habits!
Tried having watermelons for a week - useless.
Trying a new regimen now. Drinking a jug of 1/2 lemon and 5pcs of cucumber everyday - going to try this for a week.
Will also try having dinner at 7 instead of 9 and get 7 hrs sleep instead of 5-6.
Will also do 25 situps a day

Might be worth considering that fad diets are not going to work, and you should instead try a healthy diet and more exercise? 25 situps a day will make almost zero difference.
