Re: Need to lose belly fat!

You could change the corn flakes for oatmeals instead. I usually put in some jam with no sugar added to it. Use semi skinned milk instead

Try to eat as natural as possible. Alot of things in the supermarket are loaded full of sugar and junk.

And drink lots of water or green tea. Drinking water or green tea can help fill you up. Especially after you had some carbs

Cardio i would use a jump rope you may feel a bit sore but it will improve overtime as jump rope just shock your muscles.

Try to at least eat 3 meals a day. Trying to starve yourself will only hurt you as this will force you to consume more in 1 meal or eat junk food.

For your dessert you can try some cottage cheese if you can handle it or try some smoothies. For lunch you could go for the legendary all natural peanut butter and jam sandwich. Then drink water afterwards, that will fill you up.

For some homework videos i sometimes use this guy, buy you can also use some of it in the gym http://www.youtube.com/user/JDCav24

So, after a month of fasting, I am delighted to say that I have lost 3 kilos.
I only had 2 meals a day when I was fasting. If I ever gain weight, I will voluntarily fast again!

The equation is simple - you are what you eat

Re: Need to lose belly fat!

I lost belly fat (and fat overall) only when I started running about 4 miles 2-3 times a week. This helped me to burn fat all over the body including belly area. And of course crunches were my best friends. Plus food was very healthy and light - chicken, tuna, veggies and fruits.

Now that you've lost the weight you will have to make sure that the 'wheel does not fall off' as it's very easy to gain weight again very quickly and it takes time again to lose it.

Re: Need to lose belly fat!

I'd run, but I suffer from incredibly bad knees. It's really annoying as badminton is my favourite sport yet I can't play it all that often. I've had to work hard on my techniques over the years to make sure I don't hurt them. It's got to the point where I can barely walk for a week.

Cycling isn't impactful, but I can't deal with the seats and I find it really boring. There's nothing to it

I like to play sports to work out but I bloody well can't - it's super annoying. Swimming worked massively (when living in Spain I had my own pool so I was in it a lot and I became very healthy because of it. I've got a local gym, but here in Barry all they care about is the money they earn; they're not interested in helping you out, unlike the gym near my fathers (Slinfold) where I had a personal trainer for a while who helped massively.

This is what I eat these days.

Breakfast - Corn flakes with half bowl of wholemilk and 2 teaspoons of sugar / Weekends - egg omlette with 1 x khobez

Lunch - Chicken biriyani or veg curry and 1 x khobez

Snack - Low fat mango ice cream OR 2 x small milk sponge cake [ You get in Iceland these days .. 8 in a pack for £1 ]

Dinner - Grilled small chicken finger strips x 4 sandwich with 2 pc bread & low fat mayo and cucumber and tomato and red onion.

Now, where should I cut down on food and what exercises should I do?

Please remember that as I am an Asian , a meagre sandwich won't fill my stomach and I'll end up eating 3!

I've stopped having sugar. Started having more protein (egg whites, baked beans, meat), more veggies (broccoli helps fat loss apparently!) and less carbs. i've cut down on bread, and only have weetabix as my source of carbs in the morning for breakfast. Combine that with 45 minutes of HIIT (high intensity interval training) 3-4 times a week and you should see some results.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have a new solution for losing weight.
Eat only a carrot for dinner. I have seen great success as it helped me lose 1kg/night! For lunch, you can have anything sensible in moderate amounts.

Re: Need to lose belly fat!

I think a good exercise for the belly would be one that involves a upward running motion, and you can do this on a certain machine in the gym which i have no clue of the name and if the gym is not an option, you can even be getto about it and just run up and down your stairs.

Yep ketogenic diet is the way to go to lose weight. i've gone mostly aleo so even more extreme, but the weight bit is ketogenic - no carbs. Weekdays I have omelette for breakfast, meat for lunch (chicken wings or a bit off a joint), lots of veg with some meat in the evening. Snacks are nuts or vegetables. Weekends I'll have bacon and cabbage stir-fry for breakfast. No bread, pasta, rice, spuds, sugar. Lost a load of weight and feel a helluva lot better mentally/physically too.

On low carb diet you're better off doing high resistance (weight based) workouts than prolonged CV. Extreme CV is a carb burning exercise, which is okay but you then need to refuel. Better to back off it a little and let your body burn fats.

Re: Need to lose belly fat!

I trained my ass off last year and ended up taking my uncles recommendation (he used to be a semi professional body builder)
    Breakfast : Porridge
Snack : Apple or Pieces of Melon
Lunch/Dinner : 1 Chicken Breast just grilled with a cup of rice
    Supper : Orange

Literally the most boring meals you could think of but you knock the weight off whilst keeping up with the nutrients you need to train better

If it works for you, great. But sounds dangerously short of oils and proteins. Especially for body building. That reads more like a marathon runner diet.

Actually, 5:2 (so starving yourself two days a week) is the first diet I've ever been able to stick to that's actually worked. Dropped almost 2 stone last year on 5:2; the wife dropped more. I eased off over Christmas but I've gone back to it the last couple of week.

So yeah, I heartily recommend 5:2 intermittent fasting to anyone who's trying to lose weight (combined with decent exercise, like climbing as I suggested a year and some ago )
