You need to find out what voltages your memory is design to run at. Then enter the timings manually in the bios.

Also the bios will resets to defult when has finished updating so you may need to adjust the other settings or load the optimized defults.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to discern my ram's operating voltage. Operating or max stable voltage. I believe they can out of the box at 1.85. Is that it? ,..Or am I looing for the max stable voltage? I've heard I need to turn other settings down in order to get the voltage to trigger the blue screen or shut down rather than another conponent. However, I have never done this before. I'm willing to. I just want to do it with surity, rather than as the bull in the china cabinet. Can one of you assit me a bit further?

    ram voltage

I have found that the adata pc6400 800mhz ram has a 1.85 voltage. Sean from abit UK said I needed to set the ram voltage in bios,.. I've never "had" to set ram voltage for stability. Why is it necessary now? How is it necessary or rather how is it done? I'm clearly new to this,.. but I need this system to be stable. Can anyone help me? Thank you.

a lot of DDR2 800 RAM doesn't meet the JEDEC standard 1.8V that many mobos set by default - if it doesn't get enough voltage it will be unstable.
A lot actually needs over 2.0V & some of that won't even boot at 1.8V.
If you go into the BIOS you should be able to set it manually (probably in the uGuru utility section I would guess).

Interestingly I noticed today on another forum someone having problems with that RAM on an Asus mobo.
