Well after considerable time last night, I've hit the wall with 356 FSB. Upping Core and NB would let me boot at 375, but wasn't stable after 30 min OCCT.

Even tried dropping to 7x and 400 FSB. No joy...

I guess "only" getting an extra 34% from a CPU that is being binned tighter isn't too bad.

Maybe I'll try again after Beta 1.5 or the next offical BIOS are posted.

    Bests...

I've just read another user that posted getting better OC'ing with Beta 1.3. I'd switch back, but I want to keep the 1T memory timing.

Is there any word on when the next BIOS will be released?

For now I've gone back to BIOS 13 beta. I did have a 2.4GHz O/C on that, which is the best I've ever had.
Predictably enough, my experience with Beta 14 is EXACTLY the same as yours. Have gone back to Beta 13, at least I can manage a stable 2.1GHz there

Question Does anyone know if they are still working on new BIOS for this board?

Now that the "official" release of V.14 BIOS has been made is Abit calling it quits? I know Beta BIOS 11-14 helped a lot for getting this board stable past stock FSB, but several (most?) users are still below the 400 MHz threshold.

Has anyone heard of Abit doing more work on this?

If there are still outstanding issues then the abit bios team will keep working on it. There is no news of a new beta bios yet but I will post it on the forum as soon as I hear of any new developments .

13 beta and 2.4GHz. At least that's 600MHz extra. Though I did have to reboot and then got the bios moaning that CPU frequency had changed blah blah. I pressed F1 to ignore it so I could actually be at 1.8GHz.

My old DFI SLI-D Athlon board was so easy to O/C. Stable too. But this board? Sheesh, bloody pain in the ass.

Hi guys - Try to boot at 2.9Ghz-3.0Ghz (333FSB) My E4300 won't boot from 2.2GHz and upwards unless i set it for 2.9/3.0ghz ROCK SOLID STABLE Really strange board this is IMO, never known anything like it lol.

I think you and I seem to be the only ones with this problem unfortunately... next week I'm going to drop my friends E6600 into my box and see what happens, that should give me an idea whether the issue is my CPU or board. If it's the CPU I'll be chucking the chip on eBay and getting a 6320 or 6300.

I ran a 6420 on this board with .12 and .13 and could not get much past 366 on the fsb. Much happier with the quadgt.

Thanks, dude. I will try your advice. I take it this bizzare overclock was on BIOS14?

    Meatbix:
I'd love to know how the E6600 performs in your rig. Let us know.

I've got the new offical BIOS14. I've just not applied it yet. Once done I'll let you know how it went.

Didn't get time to do this on the weekend unfortunately (getting my car fixed was the priority!). Will hopefully do it next weekend.
