Actually looking at my idle temps a bit more closely I'm not so worried about my Orthos readings. I'm idling at 33 at the moment at 3150MHz with my vCore at 1.4v, and during 3DMark runs it's only peaking in the mid-50s, so it seems that Orthos works the cores harder than any real world stuff. And it seems perfectly stable at these settings, gave me close to 12 hours of Orthos with no errors today. Pretty happy at 3150, I think I'll just leave it where it is for a while and enjoy it!

Midas, try setting your PCI-e clock back to 100- it really doesn't seem necessary to run it at 101 or 102 for me at least. And keep your Vtt down, just a notch or two above stock. I reckon 1.35-1.4 is fine for Vcore depending on clock speed, and the northbridge doesn''t seem to need more than 1.38 although it ndefinitely needs a bit of a boost.

Hmn, i have a Core 2 Duo E6320 CPU which only has a Multiplier of 7x, so it would need an FSB of 429 to hit the 3 GHZ Mark ...and the Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI`s FSB Limitation is around 375 ?

So i should not buy this Board i think ?! ...or will there be a new Bios for this Board soon which Supports FSB between 400 and 430 ?

The Thing is, i really like this Boards Features and Design and would directly order it, but if i can "only" get it to 2625 MhZ (7x375) max. maybe the Asus P5B is the better Choice ?!

Thx 4 any Informations regarding this.

A P5B is probably a better choice if you want/need high fsb's but 400-420 is far more typical from a FP-IN9, not 375.

What do you think about this Board ?

    GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3

Would cost me only 79,95 € in new Condition on Ebay and the Guys from THG tested the Enthusiasm-Potential with stunning Results on an E6300, so it should be kinna similiar with the E6320 ?!

They got the E6300 to stable 3,45 GHZ with the boxed Intel Air Cooling and without adjusting Voltages with this Board ^^

All that got modified on that Board itself is that they exchanged the original Northbridge Cooler with a Coolermaster Blue Ice 2 (costs only 9,95 €).

So stable 3,15 GhZ (my goal) Conroe Dualcore with 4 MB L2-Cache for just 89,90 € at all ?

Thats worth a thought eh ?

And sry for using this wonderful Abit-forum for Questions about other Manufacturers, i know Abit rulez, its just the FSB Thing of the FP-IN9 that blocks me from buying it :/

I heard the the 965P-DS3 board was a corker. And would've been a choice of mine if it weren't £20 dearer.

Anyway, I believe that the 375 limit was only for the E4300 CPUs. The E63xx and above could go higher. Though don't take my workd for it. A browse of the forums might reveal more.

You probably want a 965 or P35 chipset board fo reliable high fsb.
Be aware though that the Gigabyte & Asus 965s aren't without their own foibles.
I don't think that anyone has created the perfect, problem free enthusiast mobo yet.

    Hello everyone

Ive been reading this thread for a while now trying to figure how to get my system to OC without giving me stability issues.

    My new rig:

e6600 @ 2.4ghz (I had it at 3.0ghz for a while but then after a while the system became so unstable that I had to go back to stock)

    Zalman 9700 CPU fan

    Fatality FP-IN9 SLI

    4 x 1gig sticks of Gskill DDR2 800 5-5-5-15

    Antec TruePower 2.0 650watt PSU

    2 x Geforce 7800GTs SLI

    Sound Blaster X-Fi

    Antec 900 Case

Like I said earlier, I had the e6600 running at 3.0ghz for a while at CPU volt 1.375, DDR volt 1.95, VTT 1.20, and NB volt at 1.35. I had the SLI at 101. I also OC'd the ram at the time to 800mhz 4-4-4-12. After a few days of running the machine at this with no problems, I started having major problems and it had trouble even booting to Windows. Right now Im back at stock settings and can run Orthos forever. I think my problem is with the voltages somehow.

Thanks in advance for all your help

you might want to try a bit more voltage on the RAM

ok, I would like to complain about 14 official. when using 13 beta I could get stable:
    1333 MHz QPB with 1.20V VTT / 1.20V MCH
    1500 MHz QPB with 1.28V / 1.24V
    1600 MHz QPB with 1.58V / 1.43V
    now, with 14 official:
1067 MHz QPB - no boot
1333 MHz QPB - it boots but fails to get into windows
1500 MHz QPB - boots, gets to win, can't get through ANY stability test (including SPI 1M)
1600 MHz QPB - no boot
Anyone knows if Abit Engineers will be working on this mobo? Cause 14 is nice, everything is working, raporting ok, including 1T/2T, but overclocking is a total mess.
    Cheers!

    Talking

    Hello There,

I just buy one Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 and i´m just waiting for the delivery..

I have a Prescott 650 (3.4 Ghz - 2M L2) and i was wondering if i could run at least 4.2 stable with this motherboard.

Anyone have this board with an older processor? Celeron D, Pentium D/4 ?

I have to say that i love the layout and performance of this motherboard at stock settings, before buy the board i´ve seem lot´s of review´s and it did look´s good man!

When i got my board (few day´s i believe) i will return with my overclock results.. But i dont know what bios version will come with the board...

One last question, anyone uses that "Factory Overclock" ? Is that good?

    Regard´s

    Hi dude,

When you start getting high O/C I think you will have to relax the timings of your memory, rather than push it more.

My mem is 4-4-4-15 1T but, alas, I had to relax it to 2T for stability. Try leaving the mem at default (or drop to 2T also) for now and leave it unlinked.

    Hey,

Does bios 14 run memory at 1T and sticks when you boot into windows also is there a noticable performance increase at 1T over 2T timing.

    Hey Guys (esp Meatbix/Ollie)

Thanks for posting you bios settings, its helped me loads.

With bios .13 I could run at 3.5ghz but with .14 3.33ghz was only possible (using same settings)

    I've since changed the following:
    CPU 1.375v --> 1.4v
    DDR2 2.2v
    CPU VTT 1.35v --> 1.22v
    NB 1.43v

and everything is running great and now I'm currently stress testing 3.6ghz!

Next up will be to get the most out of my ram, its rated at 1066 @ 5-5-5-15, but with the old voltages it would only do 800 (but I could lower the timings to 4-4-4-12?!?!)

C2D don't benefit much from tight timings like AMDs so I'd prefer the higher frequency if possible (or both!)

If anyone has got their ram overclocked, I'd be interested in your bios settings to use as a point of reference.

    Thanks again

Ollie, you could try running at 1T. With my OCZ SLI mem I had to drop to 2T otherwise the PC got stuck in a boot loop.

Also, you could loosen the other timings and see if 1T is achievable.

Zuluzombie, I got 4-4-4-15 mem so it was already running fast. To be fair, once I dropped the 1T to 2T and got stable 3GHz I haven't even tried to touch my mem settings.
    Scared! I like my stability.
Then again, it won't be long before I try again. I did try 3.15GHz but without success.

Thanks Midas i will try 1T over the weekend. I'am also hoping i can get my ram over 1000MHz with timings of around 5-5-5-15. Would the extra MHz be better over tighter timings, I have read that tighter timings are more important on AMD systems than Intel is this true.

    Thanks

Well, this is my first Intel system, so I'm not sure if it's only important on AMD. My previous AMD was very tight!!

I would guess that having tight timings would be faster on any system though, not just AMD. The only way to be sure is to try new settings and benchmark.

I always test with 3DMark05, got loads of postit notes with benchmark results. I should really get a little book and make a note of my BIOS settings and resulting 3DMark scores.
