Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

    Hello all,

I've been an IP35 Pro owner for almost 2 years now and I think this board is great. Too bad abit's out of the motherboard business.

I have a friend who has offered to sell me a Q9650 E0 CPU for a ridiculously good price. The problem is ofcourse the IP35's dodgy E0 CPU compatibility.

Does the 18 beta bios work with the Q9650? Are there any plans to support this CPU?

You won't get any replies now, abit closed it's doors completely so there is no one there to answer your question from abit. Although someone on the forums may know

That's interesting - I just cannot download from that link?!

I get the message that it cannot find server.

I could however access the abitshop.eu ... strange?

Could you perhaps download and upload the file please? Should only be <600kb file?

    Thanks

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

Hi, finally installed the beta bios from the start of this thread onto my IP35 mobo. E7400 working correctly, no temp issues, now reading 38C instead of 98C, no alarms.
    Everything appears to be fine.

    Thanks

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

    hello,
I just got ix38 with a E5200 m0 stepping, well, double boots, bios reverts to defaults,
i am running the beta release of bios m704b.bin - oct/nov 2008. it kind of sucks i found this forum after getting the board. the e0 issue is similar to the m0 E5200, is still not supported, am i right?
the only "good" way of booting the system is power on / power off - every restart ends up at double boot, sometimes cmos resets, sometimes hangs, sometimes boots after 30-40 sec "wait" at err 90. it happens with non OC and OC settings...
I hope e0/e5200 fix will finally arrive.....

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

Hi. I've just bought a Q9550 (E0 stepping version) to replace my E6750 in an IP35 MB. I've tried the bios 18 and also the bios that supposedly deals with the E0 stepping. Both fail to boot with no beeps or anything.
Is it a faulty processor as it's supposed to be supported by the MB.

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

Can anyone confirm that the 18 bios for the IP35 Pro deals with the Yorkfield quads (have a Q9550 myself) correctly (i.e. accurate cpu temps being reported) ?

    Thx a bunch

Please try bios 15 and bios 16 for E0 and ATI 4850_X2 / 4870_X2 PCI-e and post your results.

    Download Bios 15 and 16

I pulled the trigger and flashed to the m629b_18.bin bios image and it fixed my cpu temp readout

I have an IX48 GT3 motherboard; it came with BIOS 11 - I'm assuming the latest posted here is no newer than 11 - can anyone confirm?

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

my understanding is that it is.
easy way to check is to download it & compare the date compared to the 1 on your board.

if you aren't having any problems then don't bother.
