Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

using the fp-in9 sli with e8500 wolfdale core two duo 3.16 ghz 8gb RAM 64bit Win7

System hangs randomly on startup before the beep. Have to power it down manually and try again.

USB is highly unreliable. Sometimes boots up with power to devices (keyboard, mouse, and wifi adapter all have power and lights) but the system does not recognize the devices.

Had been running flawlessly for the last 2 weeks, couple problems with usb here and there, but only recently has it become this unreliable.

I'd post more system details, but since I can't use my mouse or keyboard on the desktop, I'm forced to type this up on my laptop.

Before flashing this BIOS update, the system would not boot with the current CPU. Had to use an old celeronD. Temps on the wolfdale would read as 92c (always exactly 92c) in bios and failed to boot to windows. USB would become unresponsive sometimes, re-plugging the device fixed.

Need a different BIOS flash to fix USB and boot issues.

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

So I've been reading conflicting reports about the E0s and the IP35 Pro... Can anyone confirm if the Q9650 is working with the IP35 Pro and Bios 18?

From looking around it seems some people have had luck with the E0s and their IP35 Pros (same Beta Bios 18) while other's don't... How is that possible?!!

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

Okay, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on that Q9650...

I'm happy to report that it boots fine every time, temps are reporting fine, even the super-tight memory timings I was using with Bios 14 work fine...

    Super stable so far.

All this on an IP35 Pro 1.1 revision with beta 18 bios

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

Please help me... I've bought e5200 stepping e0 but it doesn't work on my FP-IN9 SLI. I've tried bios no.18 from this forum, but it's still not work. The computer still blank no beep sounds.
I hope somebody could give me solutions.... thanks.

    I ran into this forum;
    bios-mods.com
You can request to have a modded bios written for your cpu/motherboard.
    bios-mods`com
    Seems legit,

    Good luck.

edit: I don't have enough forum posts for urls, so just replace the ` with a .
I'm sure any admins won't care.. since it does seem to be a useful site..

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

it might but it certainly won't be recognised as such due to the BIOS not having the microcode for it.
It really needs for someone to buy it, try it & report back but afaik no one has.

Yes, bu you need the new, modded bios from this topic. See other topics too, it was discussed a few times.

I had PDC E6300 on my IP35, and with the official 18 I had problems with temp readings, and had no half multipliers. The modded 18 fixed all problems.

I have also problems with half multipliers with Q9550 E0 and IX38 QuadGT, flashed this beta for E0 stepping...also wrong teperature readings, QX9650 C1 was colder than Q9550 E0

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

I may be late to this discussion, but I didn't see the answer I am looking for anywhere in this thread... I am running an Abit IP35 Pro, and have updated the BIOS to 18 beta, but the number code on both my POST screen and using the FlashMenu GUI show my revision as "-00". Is this common for those of you who have updated to this revision with success? I would have expected it to display "-18", but not sure if it does not because it's beta or because of another issue.

I ran the flash twice, just to be safe (once using the FlashMenu, and once using a bootable USB flash drive). Both times it was successful, or at least didn't appear to have an issue... Still, it only shows the "-00" for the revision number. The date of the BIOS, in FlashMenu, is 9/25/08, which is more recent than r17's date, so I'd imagine it's right, but wanted to check... Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! I have a Q9550 coming in this week, and wanted to make sure the system was ready to accept it without issue... Thanks!

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

I have a IP35-E mobo and when I try to flash the beta bios linked on the 1st post in this thread I get a error. The file does not match your system...I'm flashing in DOS with Awdflash.

For those who have flashed this bios just how did you do it ? ? Did you flash from inside Windows ??

I'm flashing from the final official release for the IP35-E version 18 .

    thanks in advance.

It just occured to me that when I tried to flash the beta bios I did not use the switches as recommended. /py /sn /cd /cp /cc /cks /R
does one of these stop the error message for a mismatched bios file ? ?

Re: BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping

I've been using the Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 for about a year and a half now..

Even with the beta BIOS my pc is still unstable.. USB fails to work, I have to use pci cards. The system fails to boot constantly.. It started out every once in awhile it wouldn't boot, progressively it got worse and now every once in awhile it WILL boot. The board is trash because ABIT isn't supporting them anymore, I've already ordered a new one from tigerdirect. As soon as the new one gets here this one is going right where it belongs.. In the trash.

Good luck to everybody else running ABIT mobos!
