Hi,
I am thinking about upgrading my CPU.
But I have a IP35 PRO XE.
As I found out EO CPUs are not supported by the latest official Bios.
I searched the web for an newer revision but did not find any.
Can I flash the IP35 Pro Bios?
Thanks

In the first page of this tread there´s a BETA BIOS for the IP35 Pro XE that i believe support the E0 stepping CPU´s

Hi,
where?
I only found the official 11 rev. which has the same release date as the 17 rev for the Ip35 Pro.
http://www.abitshop.eu/bios/m629o_11.bin
this is not the same as the release 11 on the main abit download
Thx.
So sad they went down... (I am typing this on a system running with my 10 year old BX6 Rev2).
I just got a Q9550 for my IP35-E...the bios works fine but I have the problem where the fsb resets to default...what is the procedure to change settings and get it to stick?
Has anyone used the last bios beta specified here for the IP35 ProXE and a q9550?
I'm certainly tempted to give it a shot, but would like to see if anyone has successfully resolved their issues with this first.
I've currently got the website version of 11 installed and my cpu is just shown as a value of 2.9GHZ within Windows 7 and certainly seems to be running fine, but I did have to disable the warnings on the bios temperatures as they incorrectly report CPU temp of over 100 degrees on startup and the sirens go off!
Further to last post....
I've bitten the bullet and installed it, success!!
It recognises the CPU by name now and the computer has also gone back to 'whisper mode' (if you have a HAF932 you'll know how quiet I mean)
Very pleased, many thanks.
I'm just waiting for my Titan Fenrir to arrive now and I'll get some overclocking done again.....
Thx for sharing your results.
That verifies Buffs post.
Just to confirm and to say thanks, as mine Abit I-N73HD works fine now with latest (beta) bios posted here with E7600.
Anyway latest official bios 13 was working well with E5200 as well.
With BIOS 13 there was known problem with High CPU Temperature like 92 C and great instability.
Problem solved.
P.S. mine E7600 has S-Spec: SLGTD and it is Core Stepping: R0.
Well I think its time to retire my ip35. Bought a Q9550 E0 and my system won't even post with it fitted. Have flashed beta bios posted here and flashed CMOS. No help.
Q9550 works ok in a pc at work so the cpu is fine.
Bye bye Abit.
swanny, I have an IP35-E and the same thing happened to me. Bought a Q9550, updated to the bios posted on Page 1 and it just won't POST. I broke down and bought a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P and will keep the C2D E4400 overclocked to 3.3GHz on my IP35-E for now. I highly recommend Gigabyte as a replacement to ABIT.
Swanny, I've now done two builds with the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P and my only concern with it is that there is an alarm that sounds for about 3 seconds when Windows wakes from S3 Sleep mode. I believe that's happening because the CPU Fan does not start spinning the moment it comes out of S3 sleep mode. As soon as the fan spins up, the alarm stops. I am tempted to turn off the CPU Fan Fail alarm, but if it really does fail, I want to be made aware of it. Hopefully a BIOS update will address this issue.
I have loved ABIT ever since my BE6-II that I bought in 2000. I had to replace the capacitors on it to keep it running another 4 years. It would still be running today if I didn't have other capacitors fail on it last year. I have been tempted to replace the remaining caps just to get the system running again, but I'm not sure it is worth the effort.
Hmm, now that I think about it, I might just make this a weekend project "just because" I was really hoping ABIT would continue to exist and innovate, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I'm hoping Gigabyte sticks around for a very long time.
