    is the mac mini totally passive? as i've currently got a shuttle, but the noise is quite bad late at night, it's way better than my old tower pc but i'd like something silent, and i don't play pc games, so i think the mac mini would be great for my needs- internet, word spreadsheets, odd bit of photoshop.

    I suppose it could be done, but I guess it would need a bit of hacking to extend the heatsink out the back of the case..

    I wouldn't want to try running it without a fan stock, as it's obviously there for a good reason..

    One of my flat mates ordered one last week. I keep looking at the Mac site and thinking about it, but i'm still not 100% convinced about it all. Might look at getting one in a few months when I have a bit more cash knocking around.
