Finding a car

Am I missing something here, or is finding a car ridiculously difficult? I've been checking autotrader every day for 3 weeks now, and everyone I phone says that the car has already been sold. I'm after a Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec, and have got upto £1200 to spend. I'm only looking at trade sellers, not private.

Well you've picked an incredibly popular first buy and price range. You should include some other trims in your search, a top spec LX is pretty close to a Zetec. You could also squeeze to a Ghia though it would likely have higher mileage or be older, but being a higher spec car will probably be in the same condition.

What time of day are you phoning?

Perhaps it's worth taking a thursday off and getting the calls in nice and early when the mag comes out.

And check out the loot.

In my experience when you're going for a car, the one you want is wanted by loads of other people just like you for the same reasons, in that price range, so long as the car is in fair nic, it's a real sellers market.
