Re: What kind of driver do you hate most on the road?

As previously mentioned, the people who drive at the same constant speed regardless of what the speed-limit is for that road

And people who can not use the correct lane at a roundabout.... I have a few roundabouts near me where it is clearly sign-posted before the roundabout, then the lanes even have the signs painted in them and people still use the wrong lane for the exit they decide to take - If I have had a bad day and it is safe to do so, I will deliberately block them, as I drive a work lease car (so if somebody bumps my car and it isn't my fault I get things sorted without the hassle of dealing with insurances etc) and I know somebody who had exactly the same thing done to them where the car driver in the wrong lane actually hit them and got done for dangerous driving due to the fact that they were not following the rules of the road

As for motorbikes, I ride myself, and I can understand people who get frustrated with the minority that ride around like idiots, but I always acknowledge people who make the effort to move over, even when I am not looking to overtake as they realise that I would be able to pass in gaps that they would never manage in a car

Tailgaters are my personal bugbear. Far more dangerous than mobile phone users. It's just so distracting to have some cock in a BMW or an Audi (have you noticed that it's almost always a German car?) 3 feet from your back bumper.

im a cyclist, and mostl around swansea things are fina apart from

-Huge f***ing SUVs, what do they need them for?
-old people, they seem to ignore your existance completely
-women, they never seem to look in the mirrors, when your going along the road they either sudenly pull out in front or open the doors, few time i nearly flew in to doors like that
-lazy drivers, who feel the need to drive 100meters to local corner shop to get something like a magazine

Personally I have always wished that I could win the lottery so that when I am driving about (assuming it would not affect anyone else) I could just slam on the brakes to teach these ignorant sods how dangerous tailgating is.

The thing I don't understand is why is everyone is such a rush to be everywhere all the time? If you're running late then that's your own bloody fault - no need to risk peoples lives (or yours) because of it. Leave earlier, and you'll be guaranteed to get there on time.

Re: What kind of driver do you hate most on the road?

Intersting that no one seems to have an issue with drivers doing 100+ on motorways. Does no one get annoyed by people stomping past everyone on the M1 doing 120mph?

    I don't, personally, just curious...

Also, why don't so many of you like people using mobile phones? Is it purely because it's illgeal... or because by proxy 90% of people who use them can't drive at the same time? What I mean, is it a problem with the phone or the knock on effect of using it?

    Anyway... my pet hates;

People who *dont* know the width of their own car... You see some muppets round here who slam on their anchors behind a row of parked cars when you could squeeze a small aircraft between the parked cars and on-coming traffic... GO!

Idiots who do 30-40mph on A/B roads.

People who seem to hate you because you've over-taken their slow-moving-ass and have the need to flash you over and over and over again until you can no longer see them despite over-taking with plenty of room etc.

PEOPLE WHO LEAVE THEIR FRONT/REAR FOGLIGHTS ON OMFG WTF BBQ AAARGHARGHRAGRHARGAHRGH

People who brake... and brake... and brake.... and brake... and WHY ON EARTH ARE YOU BRAKING?!

Rich folk who buy really nice sporty cars and then refuse to drive them past 30mph.. holding up people who actually need to work and drive sheds with square wheels (jealousy, really)

The list would go on... as already said, folk in my way = anger

oh i don't tailgate, i stay a distance where i can still stop if you have to do an emergency stop, its not the 2 second rule though.
Problem is, living in Pasty land there aren't that many dual carriage ways, and some of the national speed limit roads are twisty country ones, so if you want to over take on a blind bend and smash into some innocent person then be my guest.

Re: What kind of driver do you hate most on the road?

well maybe not a blind bend, but my car does overtake bloody quick and can do it with safety where a lot of other cars can't, if more people left a gap (mainly lorry drivers) it would make life a lot easier for those that want to overtake when its safe

and yeh i should have said dual carriageways.

My number 1 and biggest hate of all is drivers who simply don't understand what a speed limit is. Was driving up from kent a few weeks ago, full car of people, in the outside lane (busy motorway) doing 70. having people coming right up behind me, getting irate and then screaming abuse at me when they undercut me and speed off. Its like, if you have a problem with the speed limit, don't abuse me!

tailgating is a big pain as well, 2 second rule is your friend people. Same goes for junctions, don't come right up behind me so all i can see is your windscreen, i was taught to always leave enough room so you could see the rear wheels of the vehicle in front touch the road. Sounds stupid but anybody who's driven an automatic will vouch for the junction "roll-back"...

If there's room to 'safely' undertake you then you are in the wrong lane no matter what speed you are doing.

Tbh honest mate, like malfunction said, sounds like you where in the wrong lane.

Another thing that bugs me is people who rely far to much on their very inaccurate analogue speedometers and trundle along the motorway at 65!

You can't blame them tbh, it's the only way of approximating your speed

It's worst in the average speed bits with roadworks where it's 50 amd people do 40 mind.

People who fill the back window with those stupid signs like "PRINCESS ON BOARD" or the like, in fact people that put hanging, sparkly distracting stuff inside the car full stop.

Driving up to see a friend with Tigs and Agent we spotted a car with what appeared to be a shrine on the dashboard, gold coloured statuette of some deity, must have been 8" or more high.

Shudder to think what that would do to your face in an accident!

Re: What kind of driver do you hate most on the road?

i hate all drivers being a cyclist as they dont give a crap about bikes.

On sunday i was riding down the hill a couple of miles from home just about abiding by the 30mph limit on my bike when some guy with his wife and kids coming the other way pulled right across the road to go into his drive which he has the right to, but he had either decided that going from 30 to zero in 20 meters of space is perfectly acceptable for a bike or was blind and couldnt see my bright red shirt , i had absolutely no chance of stopping had to slam on the brakes and swerve into the other oncoming traffic. and then when i shouted at him he looked at me like i was in the wrong. It took all of my willpower to stop myself from removing my seatpost and killing him with it.
