Me rex Newbie around these forums really. Currently drive (well technically it's SORN now) a 1994 Mazda RX7 Type R2. Not many mods really. HKS Racing Suction intakes, HKS Super Drager catback, Sparco Steering Wheel and gear knob, Alpine stereo, HKS Coilovers and that's about it.
Currently off the road for a rebuild, porting, fuel upgrades etc etc. Full 3" exhaust system first from SMB Exhausts in Australia then the rebuild, then the porting, then see how much money I have for other odds and sods
This'll be my 'new' car when my boyfriend collects it from Cardiff.
This was going to be my car, but the engine turned out to be caput, oops, boyfriend is changing the engine to try to get it on the road again.
He's just picked this one up this weekend. No seat belts, drum brakes all round, no brake servo...
This is his new toy It is a bit quick and noisy....

This is my wife's car. It's a temporary thing while we wait to see where we are going to live next. It's an 2001 SL500, and it's in quite a nice metallic grey. It goes pretty well and is a very nice drive. A bit wasted in the city though.
My car is a different proposition completely. I have a 1993 BMW E32 740i. I paid 4,000 Euros for it in 2003 so it is worthless now. I had it dyno-tested back in Luxembourg (it's free as part of the 'MOT' if you ask) and it still produces 282bhp) it has the 4.4 litre M60 engine, so it was originally sold in the USA.
A funny thing happened to me just after I bought it. I was driving out of the Grund (Luxembourgish for "Ground", the name of a little village in a pit) under one of Luxembourg's immense bridges when some prankster dropped a water balloon on me. Hah! Hah!, how I sniggered!
The Viaduct is some 32 metres above the road. The balloon probably contained about 500gms of water and thus weighed about 500gms (or just over a pound to you non-Europeans), Upon being released it accelerated at 9.8 metres per second2 So, after 32 metres it had accelerated to about 30 m/s. This is equivalent to around 108 Km/Hour. It is a steep hill, but I have 300bhp and use it, so I was doing 80kph uphill when the balloon hit the windscreen. Allowing for the angle of impact I figure that 500gms of water hit my windscreen at a combined speed of 180kph or about 110 mph.
Can you imagine what would happen if a baseball or a cricket ball hit your windscreen if it had been bowled at that speed? Well, this water balloon weighed twice as much, but it wasn't as hard. Can you guess what won, the glass or the water?
(Thanks Evilmunky)
