They unreliable. They're overpriced. They're crap. How many different ways do you want to be told this (5 people in this thread so far have said "Don't buy a 306" and one more specific to that car)?

It's blatantly obvious that you really don't want to hear it, even if we tell you buying a 306 will turn you into a smoked herring you're still going to buy one so why ask?

It's a **** car that looks pretty, if that's what matters to you then that's fine but it's still a **** car.

tbh, i dont think the 306 is a bad car at all, I think some people in this forum need to get off they're high horses for a minute. the 306 is not too bad for a bit of performance and the handling is excellent aswell if you dont believe read reviews like this one here ... http://www.parkers.co.uk/choosing/ca..._id=650&page=2

Don't get me wrong: I won't criticise the handling and performance of them, they were streets ahead of everyone else back in the day.

Unfortunately they were badly built and are chronically unreliable otherwise I'd have an entirely different opinion of them (speaking as someone who once lusted after one but was fortunate enough to have good friends who had experience and knew better).

well a friend of mine has had one for a few years now and it has always been reliable, only things he has had to change are brake pads, tyres and occasionally change the oil. but thats one of several thousand so it may just be luck of the draw.

Its not a problem with the 306 in general people people are having i think. Its the talk of big alloys, big boring exhausts and big stupid air filters on a 1.4 people are having the problem with...

Well that I dont agree with, there are a lot more cars that people do all these things to, nova, fiesta, saxo, 106 and so on, the 306 does also make a great family car.

a focus is a much better car - as for that 306. complete ripoff - i'd not pay a penny over £500 for it. they really do go wrong. a lot. it'll be a serious downgrade (in speed, and comfort, and general niceness) from the 2l 206. why not get a 406 instead? bigger, more comfortable, more reliable, cheaper, and better looking imo. pick up something like an hdi engine on a v plate off ebay for £1500

thanck you mart_haj86 you have just proved a point there

i dont ever see any chavs driving pug 306's
and if i did then i certainly wouldnt buy 1
the only reason i want the exshaust system air filter alloys ect is to make the pug look better and a bit more stylish from a standard 1

and jon bda i beleive u may be talking about kitty ? on the last post u just sent in ?
well for your info she is my gf and i can hionestly say her pug is nice sounds good and performs well yes it may be a 1.4i but thats only because she didnt want to pay too much on insurance !!! wich i dont think any of us did when we only had 2yrs no claims ect and only 19 !!

and as i mentioned earlier there spacius quite sporty looking already and the air filter ect do's help with feul economy

so thanks again mart_haj86 u certainly see the side of cars that all people should

wouldn't rate a 406 for reliability either, from experience

I see plenty of chavs driving 306s. 1.4s are slow. Adding a huge exhaust and ugly alloys does not make it stylish to most of the non-chav population.

i havnt seen chavs driving a real 306, of wich there are two, the rallye, and the gti-6.
its not a popular car amogst chavs tbh, its to big for them, its not seen as a rude boy car on the whole, certanly not compaired to a saxo vtr lol.

and in reply to you bad boy, i wouldnt muck about with a silly loud exhaust, at the end of the day its not fast, and why make it sound stupid, you at least wanta real engine to back it up, which is why your gf so much stick. why do you want one?

and most of all the 306 has more space in it

but thanx for noticing what i said

well i do miss the 206 but thats to l8 now
and no b4 any1 says im not going out and buying another 206 no matter how nice they are
they arnt nice shocking build quality in 206 cars, i have now trawled throught the rest of the thread and would say tha6t for what you want that car should be fine, it wont be particualrly sporty as its a big 1.6, but it will go ok. and 900 seems ok for that as long as its got mot and some tax..

Dont ****ing Bring Me Into This I Am ****ing Fed Up With All Your Childish Comments!!!

    The Reason I Got A 306 Is....

    1. Its A 1.4 The Same As My Old One So Insurance Dont Change, As Bad Boy Said I Am 19 Got 2 Years Driving Behind Me. So A Bigger Engine Would Cost Me A Bloddy Bomb.

    2. Its Bigger Than My Old One, My Old One (heres Something For You All To Rip To Pieces Seen As You All Enjoy Doing It So Well) Was A 1.4 Ford Fiesta, 2 Doors Full Of Rust, White, K Reg ( Want More Info So You Can Diss It??)

The Pug Has Got 4 Doors Loads More Room Inside Which I Wanted, No Rust On It At All And A N Reg.

    3. Each To There Own With Taste. Looks Ect
I Like The Fact My Pug Has Got Allys, A Big Exhuast, De Badged Ect It Dont Mean I Drive It Any Different.
Oh And For All Your Info I Bought The Car Like That So It Didnt Cost Me Anything To Get It Done!!

    4. I Am Not A Bloody Chav Jus Because I Got A Car That Has Got A Big Exhuast On Dont Make Me A Chav, Have You Seen The Way They Drive? Up Peoples Arses All The Time, Breaking At The Last Moment. Thrashing The Bolocks Of The Car, Cutting People Up Need I Go On?..

I Dont Drive Like That Im A Carefull Driver And I Respect My Car Oh And Another Thing I Dont Wear The Trackie Bottoms With The Socks Pulled Up Above There Anckles And The Base Ball Caps
So Please Get You Facts Right Before Going Out Calling Me A Chav!!

    5. I Am Having A Baby So Whats That Mean Ill Have The Car Seat In The Back Ill Have The Pushchair In The Boot So I Need The Space My 306 Has.

So End Of Now People Iv Explained The Reasons I Like My Car, Im Happy With It And It Gets Me From A To B

So Leave Me Well Out Of It From Now On!! Got It!!!!

Zak edit: Please calm down lass.....it's a forum board of people who are actually really nice..honest. Please stay calm...especially if you're having a baby soon (which is great news )
Kitty cat meoWWWW......ill take that kiss now...
