When i got insurance for my Mondeo ST24 (W reg), it was nearly £400 cheaper with Norwich Union Direct than anywhere else.

    Everyone was around £700
    They did it for £313

That was fully comp with only £150 xs aswell

I have done a few quotes on elephant and confused.

elephant were expensive, around £800-900 which is what I payed last april...

On confused I made a mistake and gave myself 2 years NCB resulting in £550 for 3pft.

But I odnt have 2 years ncb. i have 1 year as a named driver on my dads insurance, then in april I will have 1year NCB on my current insurance.

That has two problems, first my quote has jumped from £550 to £665.
Second If I want to buy my insurance before the old runs out, then I really dont have any ncb yet...

I would really prefer to pay £550 if anyone knows how to get round this :/

Funny thing is I live in liverpool and pay a lot less than 2 grand to insure my A3, and I've got no NCB.

bloody hell! that's some amount of cash to drive! On my mum's insurance last year cost an extra £300 on top of what she would have paid without me on it, so i paid that. This year I bought my C1 and lumped arnold clark insurance (£800) into my payments, so (fingers crossed!) i should have 1NCB at the end of the year and it should drop again.

If i had to pay £2k for insurance, I think i'd stick to public transport!

although saying that they've quoted me £1312.56 !! (compared to £680 from first direct)
First Direct's website was broken and the quote for £680 was wrong, the real price was £950 for me.

The cheapest Tesco could do me was £1300, but then when they realised they've had me down as a named driver instead of a spouse, they found the cheapest the could do was £1050.

The confused.com site came up trumps, with a quote of £676 from Sainsburys, and when I phoned to confirm, this is the actual price for a correct quote! Yay
