    Re: C-Macc's 2 Scratch Build

Forgot to add i did get offered sponsorship from EK but , this is a big but , they never got back to me on some certain stuff so looks like ill be paying full whack for every thing my self which to be honist is not a problem. At least i get to do what i want and not what others expect. With the press coverage i got for c-macc's i reckon this one will easily blow the original party out of the water.

    Re: C-Macc's 2 Scratch Build

Time fly's when you having fun. Here is a 32" Samsung LCD Fitted. Ive taken photos at different angles on the frame. It will house up to a 50" Screen which might be just a little to big for most but when i get the chance ill show it with a larger screen later on. Time to crack on learning wood work now lol. if next time i come on and i cannot type its because ive never in my life used a new tool called a Circular saw that ive just bought hahaha ... finger liking good stuff .....

    Re: C-Macc's 2 Scratch Build

I let my son help with some of the wood work at first he was doing well .....

But then he got a little fed up with it not fitting correctly so he got some thing a little larger to use to cut the wood.

marine ply? And it looks pritty thick, surprised you didn't go for mdf.
You may want to consider some industrial casters that thing is going to weight a metric ****load when it's finished and its not going to be easy to move about.

Looks like your son had fun with the chainsaw cannot blame him

    Re: C-Macc's 2 Scratch Build

Yeh its what i got off a mate for free so thought might as well use it. Yeh i have some industrial wheels for the back but wasn't going to say any thing till there were fitted. its nice to hear some one come up with some good advice though.

I will be using MDf for certain parts of the cab as soon as i run out of this stuff.

Forgot to say btw they system is being built in 4 parts and can be stripped down in a matter of minuets for easy transport. E,G the frame, back box,TV and the CP.

    Re: C-Macc's 2 Scratch Build

Well you can now see im out of ply and MDF is being used. The system is pretty heavy but to be honest it needs some weight to it so that it will be able to take the hammering its probably going to get.

Pics below and you can see its starting to take shape.

Welded the tabs to the frame today so that the back box could be fitted into place. came across a big problem though i miss measured the box when i built it and its going to have to all be redone again. Im out of wood and money for the moment so it will be a while before i can carry on.

    Re: C-Macc's 2 Scratch Build

i could make it smaller but then i lose what i need for the top to be able to merge in with the control panel. I think im try to get this perfect and keep the aspects all in place. I need to keep it with a lot of room as i learned with c-macc's the first time around heat is a massive issue and the way ive made this one is so that there will be no problem with heat. Each 2x consoles have there own bay, the PC is completely separated from the consoles, all the cabling is hidden via a false wall ect ect. If i lose 1" or more i would lose the cable management and all so lose some off the top were the lCD is going and some other things that i have in mind that are not in the drawings.

So it is possible but not what i would really like to do.

Because of the week UK pound the above cost £480 which nearly had me in tears when ordering ....

Will take a photo of the parts once there here. Im still stuck weather to go for a 7" LCD mini TFT or a Normal matrix orbital Screen.. All so might remove the Blue ray rom and have a DVD rom so that i can use it externally across USB 2.
