Tell you what: go play a really cracking multi play game, word it like you see it, and post it here. Tell us WHY it was a great gaming session...WHAT made it so cool?

Do you see what I mean? Screenies are one thing.....game play and fun are to be described.
Look, I'm not going to describe why it's fun, because your idea of fun is completely different from mine. It's what you take from the game once you've played it.

Zak33. I don't understand where you got that i wasn't implying that the game was fun by showing a couple of screenshot's , wouldn't a video had been more suitable for that? Do you know what i don't understand, why do you allow something that has no baring on your life bother you so much?

You don't like Halo fanboy's or Halo in general so why slate those who enjoy the product?

    Re: Halo 3 review

...Completed it last night with a mate - can honestly say, hand on heart that this aint the super duper game of the year in my eyes but still worthy of note... One of the later levels is so flawed in its design that it sucks the fun right out of you, and to that point my fun gland was bulging nicely. Looks pretty, been hit with the HDR stick and not overdone. Not as pretty as GoW but keeps the framerate up at all times. Sound is above average, musical score is exceptional (though needs levelling, sometimes prevents dialogue from being heard clearly. Story is good, not exceptional, not ground breaking but 'good'. Worth the poppy I handed over to the sweaty Game minion, I enjoyed it but its not the game to end all games in my soggy opinion...
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...

I noticed a few on here (including me) say the graghics wern't qiute up to the standard of other 360 games.
I now know why, it ISN'T in HD.
The game runs at a resolution slightly lower than 720p.(720p is the minimum to be classed as HD)

    Re: Halo 3 review

is there any 360 games that run natively at 1080p so no upscaling is done.

also can you tell diff between 1080p/720p on 360.

halo 3 is ace on multiplayer less serious than the likes of cod4 and more about having fun. I did not like bioshock played it for an hour and got bored guess ill ebay it.

the bungie.net stats tracking is pretty extensive also even maps out kill points on recent games.

    Re: Halo 3 review

    Zak33 for you mate

your description of why halo's fun supposedly by epic's Mark rein

"Epic Games boss Mark Rein has been speaking to the Official Xbox Magazine about the successes of the recently released Halo 3, revealing his belief that Bungie's polishing and balancing efforts have created a killer title.

Speaking about the enduring appeal of the entire Halo series, Rein states: "I don't look at Halo and go, 'That's the greatest graphics'. I don't look at Halo and go, 'Wow those are the coolest enemies ever'. I look at Halo and go 'They nailed it'. This game is so fun to play, everything works just right."

On the significance of Halo, Rein adds: "It was the game that pretty much defined - I'm not going to say 100 percent because there were other games, Medal of Honor and games like that, that did such a good job as well. For me Halo ushered in the shooter console revolution. In other words, it showed everybody that, if you made a perfect shooter for the console, you would sell tons. So we owe Halo a lot."

"Perfect execution" is the key, according to Rein, who adds that the 'Halo effect' has boosted Epic's business as shooters become popular on consoles. More as we get it"

From what I read yesterday there's no AA in Halo because it doesn't work with the lighting effects they've used.

Oh god not this again. It's all hot air, I suggest you ignore it, the image is still very sharp and if you put Halo 3 running at 720p next to halo 3 running at 640p I very much doubt you'll notice any difference at all, and even less if you are watching the 640p upscaled to 720p, it really doesn't make that much of a difference. Actually though, I'd prefer it if all the people who are having a fit about how "the game isn't HD" would stop playing the game, it would improve the community.

I don't really get why people say it's got poor graphics, I think they're great, yeah it might need a bit of AA here and there, but when I'm playing the game I hardly ever notice it, and I'd much rather have their very well done HDR. Halo 3 looks like Halo 2, but what's the problem with that? It's called consistency, it has the same style as the other Halo games but sharper and more detailed with some massive maps. The faces aren't fantastic when you look right up close to them, but if you compare Commander Keyes to the woman from GoW (the one who's on the radio to you giving you intel), there isn't really much in it.

    Re: Halo 3 review

I think the Graphics are pretty darn good at 1080p!!!

Never been keen on Halo as a whole though, mind numbing single player coupled with average multiplay. Cant see what the millions of people seem to worship to be honest.

    Re: Halo 3 review

Right, after a break, I shall return to this thread and ask the following question:

Does anyone, anyone at all, agree with the reviews around the web giving this game a perfect 10?

Thats the only point I was making before, and peeps seemed to take offence.

This game is good, arguably very, very good on multiplayer, but a perfect 10 it is not.

Are we agreed now chaps? Or can a game with 9 single player missions, 1 of which is terrible, very bad friendly AI, and graphics that are great but not mind blowing, be considered perfect?

Props to IGN, Gamespot and HEXUS, for all giving the game the same score (9.5), and not going - ZOMG hulo is a prefect 10 guy cuz its hulo innit guy1!1

    That would have been unprofessional.

    Re: Halo 3 review

Only got it today (thanks bluecube!) and am playing through the 1st level single player and it does not float my boat so far. I just don't feel any connection to the weapons, apart from grenades. I will report more when I have played more...

Well... its a bit harsh, as you can't review the best multiplayer game on the system from a viewpoint of not giving a cock about the multiplayer, and then slating the short, easy, not-amazingly-well-done single player.

Having said that, its total genius, very funny, and makes some good points.

Glad he mocked the fools who gave it a 10. I will continue to mock them as well. As should other people with brains.

    Overall, that was fantastic.

    Re: Halo 3 review

Ok, have played a bit more and am into the third mission. Things have improved and I now think I am actually shooting things. Getting closer helped! Still a bit odd and nowhere near as good single player as the COD games for me.

However have just played online for the first time and damn is it good. For me better than the COD4 beta. Then again I am wierd.

Also felt like actually chatting to those with whom I was playing with. That is odd for me!
