Personally I am waiting for Lego Metal Gear, with 90 minute cut scenes reduced to 5 mins of silent comedy and all 4 games in one. Then Lego Metal Gear: The lost stories, with all the MSX and PSP games lego-fied.

    Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 : 1st review - 10/10

I'm quite relieved, no matter how much i love Metal Gear Solid (enough to know that liquid snake, solid snake and solidius snake are all clones of the big boss who killed the boss who is revolver ocelots mum, and oh yeah the big boss's real name...David) i wasnt really looking forward to a 90 min cut scene, Sometimes that's all the time i have to play in an evening.

If you want to buy a ps3 keep an eye on this site, I got a ps3 for £199.99 on Friday. It was a catalogue return but looked unused, I'm very please with it.

    Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 : 1st review - 10/10

mgs2 was my fav mgs game and one of my all time fav games too.

the story, gameplay and graphics where mind blowing and i expect mgs4 to follow suit. the storyline will be immense and i got a feeling that this game will be my game of the year ahead of gta4.

i been playing gta4 for a few weeks now and so far the storyline is not has interesting has any of the mgs games. infact, the story from bioshock is better then gta4

    Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 : 1st review - 10/10

For me MGS 2 was the weakest, Raiden was one reason (although the way he could catch a cold/ sneeze and blow his cover was cool). The big shell where it was mainly set was a bit of a letdown and although Raiden was infiltrating it to neutralise Dead Cell (who is lead by Solidus Snake(who is one of the Big Bosses clones) it never lived up to a "Main Location" where a new Mech was kept. MGS 3 was the best experience for me.

It headed back into the 60's and told the Big Bosses story. This is where the camo for snake was born, The many different locations and different boss battles was going back to the original but more. I can remember one battle with an old man sniper called 'The End' and if you saved game during battle then went back a couple of weeks later he would be dead of old age, i tried it once and it worked but you didnt get your perk. It just gave so much away story line wise.

And as for MGS1 well i took a few days off work for this and it stays with me as the most memorable experiences. The whole introduction to Solid, Liquid, who leads the Genome Army,Revolver Ocelot and Metal Gear Rex.

So i really really look forward to MGS4, so many loose storylines to close, so many boss battles that just have to happen........June 12th seems a long way. oh and Raiden now looks like an ass kicking ninja cyborg lol

    Re: Metal Gear Solid 4 : 1st review - 10/10

for me, the thing with the mgs games are that i can never be bothered to play them all the way through i tend to give up and get bored, saying that though the first was brilliant and i more than enjoyed going around in the ninja suit and strangling guards as they pee hehehe

shame its not coming to 360 but its still not quite a reason for me to get a ps3 while owning a 360... yet

People don't believe that 90 min cutscene thing. It's just the usual internet negative hype engine trying to steal the thunder because it's PS3. Has that game been on the Wii people would be raving about the cinematic cutscenes. Don't get me wrong though, I love the Wii, but there are definite double standards on the net. Try it for yourself, there's no reason to require anyone else's judgement for this game.

The 90 minute cutscene was not negative hype although it maybe untrue it dont make it a bad thing, as i said i remember the near 45min one from MGS2, the die-hard fans wouldnt of minded. I understand where your coming from with all the negative hype over the PS3 but alot of that is from people who have never played/owned one or just jumping on the bandwagon, it was an untrue fact that shouldnt have been negative and was only made negative from forumites.

Although if you have never played a MGS game you could dive in and play this maybe with a little head scratching but the main story is pretty independent from everything else that has happened in the MGS world, It's the side story that will conclude all the unanswered questions and tie in the rest of the MGS story. We know that Raven Ocelot had Liquid snakes arm *sewn on* and he has been slowly taken over by liquid and is now calling himself Liquid Ocelot... i could go on and as you can tell i'm very very excited.

Hey I'm with you I'm really looking forward to it. I've played just about every MG game from Gameboy to PSP & PS1 & PS2 and now to PS3.

Must resist urge to read... I'm determined not read stuff on MGS 4 because I always read up on games and it takes away from the game when you play it, knowing some of what happens and how it plays etc.

9.9 though typical just to avoid being level with GTA 4

I'm quite disappointed with GTA 4 actually, I still think GTA: SA is still the much more fun game. I hope MGS 4 isn't just another hype = high rating, which seems to happen a lot these days.

They gave MGS3 8/10 as well though and MGS3 is my favourite one so far. I haven't read the review (because I'm not risking spoiling anything) but from what some people are saying they tried very hard to be negative and nit picky.
