Metal Gear Solid 4 : 1st review - 10/10

From EuroGamer - Guns of the Patriots is a frustrating, fractured game that turns Metal Gear Solid's world upside down several times over, but never changes it.

Spooky thing is, this could be about GTAIV. While everyone else was (wrongly) giving it 10\10, the truth was it was riddled with problems.

And now, most are giving this 10\10 or 9.9... so it either is actually that good, or its another example of peeps getting carried away.

I'm sure the PS3 owners on this forum will give us their honest, truthful opinions once they get to play it.

There is a bundle on Amazon but that is their own bundle not the gun metal grey edition.

Famitsu rated haze highly though. The Japanese rating an FPS game? May as well get IGN to review Dog walking 5 or Vending Machine: Used School Girl Pantie Collector 6

My preorders in. Im sure it'll be good but after Halo and GTA getting 10/10 , im not getting too excited over these rave reviews.

Well, the 40\40 from Famitsu is good, but as has been said, after the GTA4 10\10 happenings, everyone is just a little less trusting of reviews now, it seems.

I simply cannot believe these stories about peeps refusing to review the game though. The only thing funnier is watching Josh and Gtech jumping through hoops trying to defend it, when we all know the reason.

They don't want people to mention the install size or the NINETY MINUTE cut scenes, in case it puts people off buying the game.

Lets not pretend otherwise peeps. It makes Moogle, the God of truth, a sad bunny.

how can not being alowed to tell how big the install file is the same as not being allowed to mention how the car handles in gta?

wow i diddnt know reviews are based on cutscenes and how long and how big the installation takes. i thought it was about gameplay, graphics and sounds that reviewers review a game on? in that case Age of conan must get very low score's considering it takes over an hour to install and eats up over 30gb's lol.

what next? are games going to be reviewed based on the amount of pretty colours they use in the box art? is euro gamer going to refuse to review say umm gears of war 2 because they dont want them to mention the box art? LOL

Just read about this cut scene business, now i know Metal Gear Solid is known for it's cut scenes and i do love em, i remember the 45 minute one in MGS 2, but looks like MGS4 is gonna smash that record...

Look, if the whole story about EGM refusing to review the game is false (EGM refuses to review Metal Gear Solid 4. Destructoid offers reviews, previews, trailers, cheats, and more.), and the Kotaku comments are false (Metal Gear Solid 4: EGM Refuse To Review MGS4 Because Konami Imposed "Limitations"), and the story about Konami refusing to allow reviews that mention some things is false, and the link Agent posted is false, I will withdraw my comments and appologise.

If they are true, my question stands. Why?

Josh, your childish, infantile comments are not worthy of reply. I don't 'hate' any console, or indeed any other inanimate object. When your balls have dropped, you can probably understand mate. Not that I care about this entire issue, but if you're going to go along the childish route of putting words into peoples mouth, you might want to check the dates of all the articles you posted ,then the date of the one I posted (Hint: Mine is newer by well over a week)

Oh, and while you're at it, actually read what the link I posted states. "EGM refuses to review Metal Gear Solid 4" - Due to restrictions that were trying to imposed on it.
No one cares what the restrictions actually are, it really doesn't matter. The fact that a company will not allow its game to be reviewed without having a say on what's published is 100% fail.


Which part, exactly, of putting restrictions on reviewers do you think helps gamers Josh?
