Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

I'm going to go with Fifa this year. It looks amazing, gonna go to local retail and buy it tonight for PS3.

Have to see if PES temps me back next year.

    Quick question off topic:
Is there any real difference to getting Fifa 09 on different platforms? Does the PC version look the same as the PS3 and XBox.

I haver always said that footy games are better on consoles than the PC.

Just seem more fluid to me.

PES has always been better on PC, and i've just sold fifa for the 360 to buy the PC version. Seems better than the console version, but it's still quite different. A few options missing (mostly good in my opinion, although the i/f around the menu isn't as refined)

Not had any bugs with the PC version either yet which is more than i could say for the console version.

A little quiker and genrally much more playable on the PC. Only my opinion but i have at least played both.

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

After a fair bit of deliberating, mostly due to friends buying Pro Evo I bought Fifa 2009.

Really am enjoying it, currently not controlling any passes fully manually but am finding scoring pretty easy. Always seem to score the same way though, looking to drive the ball low but cant figure it out.
I really enjoy it though and am glad of the change.

Lots more playing till I decide how much fun it really is.
Loving the achievements, the overhead kick felt well earned.

Passing on fully manual is next to impossible, I don't think the xbox controller can actually offer the precision necessary.

Got both, a bit undecided tbf, pro is annoying as you wont win an online game unless you have one of a few teams. They make all the good players a lot faster than other players so they can't be caught. Fifa 10 v 10 is a blast tho.

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

Always preferred pro evo (or ISS as it was when I first started playing it) but after a break from footie games (I liked ISS on the Wii mind) I tried the Fifa 09 and PES demos and I just couldn't get into PES at all. It might not have helped that I played the Fifa demo first, but when it was on play.com for £20 a couple of weeks back I snapped it up and haven't looked back. Really enjoy playing the Be a Pro mode, it's given me a much better understanding and appreciation of the game overall.
