    From Pro Evo to Fifa

Just wondering who else is doing the same this year?

After a shocking version of Evo 2008 with all the bugs which were never ironed out as promised. I, as well as 6 other close friends are moving to Fifa 09. We were never able to play a smooth game online and it would appear games either makes or break depending on it's online ability!

    FIFA 09-
Really impressed that you can play as an individual player on the pitch with friends. (enter as a clan/team) Why haven't Pro Evo done this???!!!!! I've downloaded the demo of Fifa and i'm very impressed with the handling of the players, much like how the players handled in single player evo 2008.

    Evo 2009 -
I've been reading that Evo have had to go back to the 2005 version to redevelop the game. Obviously because the bugs were unfixable! I don't want to buy this game again for them to let me and others down, with all the terrible bugs. I'm sure they wont make the same mistake twice, but the online features that are available in Fifa should be enabled in Evo.

So after many years of playing Evo we are ditching them and going back to Fifa! I really didn't want it to come to this, but Fifa is now leagues ahead of Evo.

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

Me and my mate are contemplating the move, but we will give pro evo one more chance! Its quite a big decision as we get together to play it at least once a week. That become a legend mode is pretty good idea I think (called road to glory(?) on fifa)

On pes2008, Ive only played ONE decent game with minimal lag. Rest have been unplayable, the ball just flys around everywhere.

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

I've just seen the FIFA 09 review on IGN and its convinced me its the one to get. I'm not moving over from Pro Evo though, or anything else, I usually can't be arsed buying a new football game every 12 minutes.

FIFA has the licence, and its the more considered, tactical game. Its hard to score, and you need to build up an attack, a bit more like the real game.

    FIFA 09 for me.

Didn't play it. I eat and sleep football, but usually don't bother with the endless FIFA and PES games, too samey.

So I buy one every few years, when enough has changed to justify a purchase.

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

i did the same last year, bought pes08 on the pc and it sucked real bad. soo bad that i toook a massive risk in buying fifa08 after seeing it being played on a 42 inch 1080p tv on the ps3 down in zavvi in bluewater.

i was like wow this game dont look too bad so i was thinking weather i should get it or not and my wife was like, if u want to get it, get it now! stop stirring at the thing get it now! LOL so i did and im glad i did as it is a brilliant game.

fifa09 looks even better and cant wait this Friday when i get my hands on a epic game

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

I like them both. Oh, the horror!

I really enjoyed Euro 2008 though, it's been my favourite 'next gen' footy game. I think it's a pity that FIFA 09 has gone back towards FIFA 08, rather than improving on Euro 2008. Supposedly it's meant to be between the two, but the demo didn't really play like that IMO.

I really liked last years PES too though, well, offline anyway The lag wasn't really an issue for me, it was just the cheap tactics used by oponents. I have too slow a net connection to play online now, so that won't bother me this year! I see it got a 9 rating in OPSM, but I'm curious to see what the likes of IGN give it.

I'll probably buy PES at launch, play that for a couple of months, then get FIFA.

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

I have just ordered Pro Evo 6 for £3.99 from HMV because I wanted decent footy game to play.
Will be happy to make the change to Fifa but only when the price comes down.

Glad there has been a swing, Pro Evo needed a kick up its behind just like Fifa did in the early 2000's.

Has anyone tried the Evo 2009 demo? It's out today but don't know if it's on Xbox Live yet?

Re: From Pro Evo to Fifa

Just played Fifa 09...very different control scheme, I liked it but hated it at the same time.
The manual passing is nice but I found it not that accurate and certainly not power consistent.
Finding the game fidle, but then that is to be expected.
Seems to me graphics are still a generation behind.

Pro Evo 09 is on download now, hopefully it will be a match....?
Maybe I will buy one after all
