I prefer the 360 controllers myself. You do get the impression that they're designed for FPSs and driving games as they sit very comfortably in your hand with the analogue sticks "just right". The PS controller lacks weight and presence. Not that I hate it in any way apart from the fact that I always get hellish hand cramps after long endurance races on GT!

Apart from the obvious lack of the cable, what is the difference exactly?

Well i always thought the ps3 pad and ps2 pad were almost the same except for the wire and weight. This was until i decided to play super street fighter hd remix on ps3 using my ps2 pad. The D pad seems to be more smoothed on the edges of the ps2 pad and the moves seem easier to pull off. I never really liked the dpad on the ps2 either as i like to play fighting games and after a while of your thumb rubbing on t he dpad it casues a little discomfort. Overal the dpad on the ps2 is smoother and more comfortable than the ps3 version. Saturn d-pad in my oppion is the best (from a 2d fighting point of view)

ive always liked the playstation controllers, although this time around the sixaxis is too light and flimbsy feeling, maybe the duel shock 3 fixes this but i have never held one! im still not sure which i prefer, xbox 360 or ps2.

Get the Dualshock 3, it's worth it. In fact, Sony should make them the 'default' controllers with any PS3 kit, or at least the high(er) end kits ~ which usually tout more HDD space as well. When the sixaxis controllers came out, Sony were not sure if they could fit the 'rumble' feature into the same space; they sorted out the problem of course and now we have Dualshock 3.

Of course, like all commercial products, the Dualshock 3 controllers means more profits and therefore Sony will probably keep the sixaxis feather weights around for a while.

I think they're in the 80gb at least. Not sure about the 160gb as they seem to be found nowhere

Sony didn't fit it due to legal action

Re: Love my PS3... hate the controllers!

I've now got some of those trigger extender things on my controller (ok I've got one as I've lost one) and I now really like the controller. I prefer it to my 360 controller now, not something I thought I would say.

There are a few subtle differences like the R2 button mouldings.
I have PS2 controllers and the PS3 controllers... 'they just feel better' when playing.

Appreciate the wireless, but (so I hear) since batteries are non user replaceable, once it fails to hold charge they either get chucked or become 'wired' controllers.

Does anyone use keyboard / mouse to play games on a PC (can you!!)? instead of the controllers?

Re: Love my PS3... hate the controllers!

I don't really have a problem with either controller, but I know my PS3 gets a hell of a lot more use than my 360.

I do prefer the Dualshock 3 over the Six Axis though, and with regards to the battery life I have only had to charge my controller once since getting the PS3 for christmas and a couple of USB extension cables and you can have the controller anywhere again. Sorted!

same here, i haven't encountered any problem with my ps3 pad.. yet. I guess it's just a matter of adjusting.
