I was on my 3rd. The 360 must be the worst engineered piece of massively popular hardware ever. Aside from the excellent controllers.

Even the headsets break all the time. Headset 3 here - not good at £15 a piece.
what?
nooo, thats not what i did at all
what i did was uise those toothpicks to stop the fan whilst i had an E73 error... just chocking the fan from outside the case (my xbox is still in warranty) and let it overheat... took about 4-5 mins and i got 2 red lights showed up...
i then pulled all the leads out and plugged it back in, fired it up and away it went!

Oh, fair enough - thought you'd had the motherboard out.

maybe so, i only did it because it seeme dto be a popular way of fixing it on the net, and when i tried it did work... the worst that was going to happen, was that i would have to send it off to M$ regardless... which i still may have to do, but this way, it gives me enough time to buy a replacement arcade system for whilst the console is off getting repaired... (this may sound extreme, but my xbox is what i use for everything... all my media centre dvd watching and gaming takes place on this one machine)

I have had mine nearly 2 years now with no issues (fingers crossed it stays that way!)

Currently on my second Elite, after my first one died in mysterious circumstances.......
I got my premium 360 on Friday the 13th of October 2006 and it's never had a big problem. There was one time in PGR3 when it froze but I think that was software because it happened again at the same point when I rebooted.
I've drunkenly dropped it from chair level a few times, which scared me. Recently the disc tray has been getting a bit stuck when it tried to open but then I accidentally dropped the controller on the vertical tray and the chrome trim fell off. I clipped it back on, and it's been opening smoothly since.
How many are jealous that I'm so clumsy with it and it's still working?

Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean
