Just install the games to the Hard drive and you can't hear the xbox after that whilst playing the games or watching DVD's or it does for me atleast.

If you have a jasper unit that may be the case but even when running from hd, the falcon and prev. versions are noisy.

Mine is the falcon and I never hear a peep out of it when playing the game or watching DVD's, the build date is October 2008 so it's not the Jasper. I just install the games and play for a few hours and the noise I can barely hear but thats probably because I am in to the game and not paying attention as to what is going on around me.

Some of it depends on the person .

That was the first thing I checked when getting the xbox to see if it was a Jasper but none of the codes were the same so I definitely have a Falcon, don't really mind either way By any chance do you sit within a foot or two of the console? I sit around about 6 foot+ from it and then have the sound up a bit more for the surround so I don't hear the console.

I tend to find that while not silent, when running games from the HDD rather than DVD, which is the loudest part of the system, its certainly more than liveable. Are you running games direct from disc or have you tried the install to HDD option?

I've got enough games on the PC that work nicely with a windows x360 controller, decided to abstain from consoles for a long while :>.

As Cuffz says just use your 360 controllers to play on the PC , upgrade your video card and RAM if you have to it will still be cheaper probably.
I have a PS3 and I really like it a lot but since buying a few 360 pads to play games on my rig I am loving it. Especially since I got Xpadder to work for all of my games now.

once my warranty has gone I'm tempted to bung a 120mm fan on top (when lying flat) & remove the delta (I believe) currently inside mine. I'll search for a guide but has anyone done something similar to theirs?

EDIT: Is it just me or does the Lian Li case look very unfinished especially around the USB ports/external ports?

It does look very blockish which is a shame, would have been nice for the ports to be finished to match the original ports

I didn't mean unfinished as in they were styled nicely, I meant unfinished as they look like LL just cut a hole & left it at that
I'm hoping it's simply as in the pic it wasn't built to the final stage but if not then this is awful!

What you're seeing is the final design sadly. You're not alone with your comments either - BitTech commented on the fit/finish of the case.

The USB and memory socket hatches feel pretty crappy to be honest: they aren’t sprung and have no opening or closing resistance whatsoever. The magnets that are used to hold them closed aren’t really strong enough either, so hatches are easily knocked open during general use. Bizarrely, the additional USB hatch runs the full width of the case despite the USB ports themselves only rising to half the case’s height, presumably a result of Lian Li aiming for a symmetrical design or saving money by using the same size slot, twice.

After having been through this, we found there are still some obvious flaws with how the whole thing fits together; the most serious is the enormous gulf between the bottom USB ports and memory card slots, and the exterior of the case. It just seems to us that the whole case is unnecessarily deep, and means if you want to plug a memory card or USB controller like a Rock Band drum kit in, you’ll have to reach around several inches inside to get to the sockets.

There are also obvious gaps between the case and the rear connection points for power and AV output, and you’ll need to be careful to make sure that the three front panel buttons all line up correctly with the motherboard. We actually fitted our Xbox 360 into the PC-XB01 twice, and the first time out our reset button wouldn’t work because I’d lined it up a little off centre.

I always thought I could do better myself, I didn't realise how huge it was compared to an xbox as well, I imagin this wasn't a best-seller!
