If you have one.
If you have one.
Not around too often!
I've just read the thread and it seems you've missed the most important point, the ps3 has that many pre-orders because of the delay after delay after delay the console has had.
Its taken 6 times longer to deliver here than any other console and the people have forgotten they've pre-ordered that many times (usually on some sony press hype release)
And the most important point have/will play get enough stock to fulfil all these orders on day 1, or as usual are the poor customer going to suffer?.

Cancelled 2 preorders today due to lack of desire/confidence to own one, both amazon and Woolworths are still taking pre-orders, biggest preorder take ever, hmmmmm doesn't look that way unless Sony have supplied a great many consoles. Think I will play waiting game.

Well thats the whole thing for me, if they still taking pre-orders then thats either because there is too much stock and not enough demand, or B) they need the hype of OMG they've all sold out, no-one can get one for love or money apart from 2000 on e-bay.
It doesn't work in sony's favour to have them sitting on the shelf.

Ain't true. Our store (I work at Game), has 38 PS3 pre-orders... Compared to the 132 pre-orders we had for the 360, and 85 we had for the Wii.
Noone seems interested in the PS3 at all....
Diablo (Main PC): Corsair Air 540; Gigabyte Z77-D3H; i5 3570k @ 4.4Ghz; 16Gb Corsair Vengeance PC3-12000; 120Gb Samsung 840 EVO; EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid; 2x Dell U2414H; Windows 10 x64.
Imperius (VM Server): 2x Intel 5640, 64Gb RAM, 2x1Tb, 6x Intel NIC, VMware ESX 5.5
Tyrael (File Server): Synology DS410 w/ 4x HD154UI; 2Gb RAM; DSM 5.2
I want one at launch but I think there's bugger all point or need to preorder. I'm guessing that there may be a few bundles available shortly after launch, and I might be able to save a few pennies. HMV have some bundles just now right enough, and they're quite tempting.
why are you all so surprised? think of all your mates who own an vbox, and own a ps2. now think how many of them are really that interested in technology.
like i said months ago, sony could sell a pink box full of wagon wheels for 400quid and call it a ps3, people would still buy it, cos its the next logical upgrade from there ps2. why is there such a rivalry? its stupid, if u like your 360, stick with that, if you want a ps3, buy one...
Because it doesn't add up, if pre-orders are so high then they should be running out of supply to deal with these pre-orders. Given what has happened with the Wii and xbox360 it doesn't make sense that you would say 6* the amount of pre-orders if there wasn't a gap between numbers in stock vs supply.
As i said Sony need to generate the hype of omg its all sold out you can't get one for love nor money so other people get led like sheep to buy it.

TiG's right...this is invented hype, marketing power.....
I think Sony will need a price crash much sooner than anticipated to get this large, shed sized console, to sell in enough quantity to make the GAMES SOFTWARE market explode. Which is what needs to happen.
It needs to be virtually free as a console to flood the market.

I do love the 360, and it does what it does well. Its how it does it is the one major bugbear. I'd rather have something the size of a shed which is almost silent than something the size of a birdhouse which makes more noise than a 747 taking off!
Part of the next-gen ness is high def audio which you really cant appreciate with the 360 because of the background roar. We've not bought the HD-DVD drive because if it makes anywhere near as much noise as the current 360 drive there's going to be no way we want to watch a film on it!
With size, if you took the 360, stuck the power supply and the HD-DVD drive to it, wouldn't it be BIGGER than the PS3 in some ways?
I agree with that too, didnt say i didnt have a PS3 on order for Friday other, whoop!
