    Manchild - New London - http://mfile.akamai.com/6533/wm2/muz...asx?obj=v20318
This is the final track on their album Untied States and its probably my favourite, quite a chilled drum n bass thingy.

Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

Its their 17 minute masterpiece. I saw this song at Glastonbury in 2002 performed by Roger Walters. It really is a true classic like all pink floyd songs.

I smoked two massive joints whilst this song was being performed and it made it sound so much better. By far the highpoint of my Glastonbury experience. Its a fantastic stoner song as well!

    Enjoy

The Young Knives - English Rose

    Messy, rocky, funky, fresh, odd.

their web site contains music and vids to assist with the mental picture.

I've been listening to Ray Lamontagne 'Trouble' from album of the same name. Bit different from some of the other choices but not a bad sound.

Gonna recommend possibly the best ambient track ever:

    Aphex Twin - Alberto Balsalm

Off the album "I Care Because You Do"

    Very short sample: http://music.hyperreal.org/artists/afx/s.php?x=j

    Exclamation Cool thread Dave!

Well if you have your doubts about listening to heavy metal, you should at least listen to Metallica's '......And Justice for All' 1988 Album. Classic Metal!

If you don't like this then u will never like any metal!

Just listen to the first title track!

I've just gone through an entire album trying to find a track for people to listen to, but I can't!

If I HAD to pick a song then it would be:

An eagle in your mind by Boards of Canada

It's from the album Music Has the Right to Children and I thoroughly recommend the album to everyone, it's a kind of off beat, relaxed, slightly out of tune electronica. I didn't know I liked this sort of thing until I'd heard it. You can't really judge it by one song though is the problem, the album is more like a journey - not the kind you can put on shuffle!

Ok everyone, i've updated the web page, and i'm suggesting a new track

    http://www.syaoran.co.uk/Music.html

Chicane - "No Ordinary Morning" from the album "Behind the Sun"

Beautiful, passionate song, sounds perfect to have on in the background while you and your partner are compulating

Don't get me wrong, Insomnia is one my fave tunes, but hardly an obscure track!

and with this in mind, i present Bic Runga

Listen to sway and you'll know the voice; Give bursting through an airing or like me, just add the album to your basket!

Slung-lo by Erin Mckeown from 'Grand'. Excellent cheery sort of a song. Rest of the CD is spot on as well.
