    Re: AMD - Bulldozer Chitchat

The guy has run some benchmarks now. Look at post 34 onwards:

    http://semiaccurate.com/forums/showp...8&postcount=34

I can re-post the pictures if anyone is interested.

The A6-4400 is a single module CPU,ie, 2 integer cores and one FP unit. The CPU runs at 2.7GHZ and the Cinebench 11.5 score at 0.70 for a single thread and 1.13 for two threads.

The Cinebench score is the similar to the A4-3300M:

    http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-A-S...r.55741.0.html

The desktop A6-3500 which runs at 2.1GHZ to 2.4GHZ has a single core score of 0.67:

    Re: AMD - Bulldozer Chitchat

Post pics please, i cba signing up to the forum!

So they're taking the same approach as they did with the Readeon's (x9xx is now high-end rather than x8xx; E2 becomes A4 and so on).
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Funny you should mention that, I think I may have seen a Brazos 2 laptop in PC World/Currys today, the E2-1800 IIRC . To confuse things, there's a Llano APU also prefixed with E2...
Edit: It was probably the Llano E2-3200 I saw.

Anyway, I reckon the Brazos-type chips will keep the 'E' prefix.

    Re: AMD - Bulldozer Chitchat

Ok,chaps I will try to rehost everything! It will take a while.

    Edit!!

I had a quick look at the CB 11.5 scores.

Doing some quick calculations, it seems those BOINC results are not too far off. Cinebench uses the FP units heavily and BD and PD dual module CPUs only have two units.

It seems single IPC of PD without L3 cache in FP heavy operations is similar to single thread IPC of BD with L3 cache in the same situation. Since PD clocks higher for a given TDP it means, the A8-5800K will be quicker than an FX4100 in CB 11.5 and probably similar to a 125W FX4170.

Also, another metric - my Core i3 2100 has similar scores in CB 11.5 to a FX4100. The A10 5800K is probably going to be at least Core i3 2120 level IMHO and maybe closer to a Core i3 2130.
