december 2012 link?
I meant this link:

BTW,Crysis3 really does very well on AMD CPUs:

CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
I assume you are taking the mickey!!??
People are whinging already on other forums that IB was not used and that the Alpha version was better on Intel CPUs,etc.
The problem IB was not massively better and it looks like the final version probably is better optimised as AMD said Crytek only started working with them quite late on. However, even if this result is replicated expect the 1000th Skyrim graph to be handed out again!!
hmmm can see them using jaguar for future product if it works well
Jaguar looks pretty kick ass. If the speculation in CAT's earlier link about > 64 cores (i.e. almost certainly 128) proves accurate, and given the enhanced FP capabilities, a top end Jaguar would actually make a reasonable stab at gaming - based on the historical tendency of CPUs with good FP performance to be good for gaming, anyway. However, I suspect that AMD will stick to 64 GCN shaders for the graphics part for TDP purposes, which will make it OK for casual gaming, but not much beyond. But even at 64 GCN shaders, it'd still kick the ass of any motherboard IGP ever...
EDIT: Just realised that my first paragraph basically describes the leaked architecture of either the next xbox or next PS, can't remember which
OTOH, if you were steam wouldn't you be killing to get one of these in your steam box...?

CAT-THE-FIFTH (21-02-2013),Zerox (21-02-2013)
So an 8 core Jaguar CPU and a 1152 shader GCN core with 8GB of DDR5??
Bandwidth is meant to be 176GB/s which compares well to the desktop HD7850 and HD7870!!
It seems rumours indicated the part is based around an HD7970M,to I suspect at least HD7850 level performance.

It looks like the Crysis3 results were not a fluke:

The FX6300 is matching a Core i5 2500K in both reviews.
The card used was Geforce Titan.
I was right the FX6300 is a good CPU. Good thing I ditched my Core i3!!
Its going to be interesting when UE4 is released this year.

Hmm, something I've just realised about that though, it's barely running at 60fps at 1280x720 and no AA/AF on something with supposedly similar performance to a 690. Crysis as it should be then!
Another thing in favour of the FX6300, as well as other AMD CPUs, is the upcoming consoles using AMD modules. Future games will be better optimised for AMD CPUs because console platforms will be using them so you are likely to have a CPU that is used more efficiently in the future because of better optimisation which should increase the longevity of your CPU.
Look at this page

Ignore the top Xeon - it costs megabucks and the servers with them in also cost megabucks and isn't a direct comparison.
Piledriver looks to be 20% faster and additionally cheaper than bulldozer.
I was quite vocal about how utterly rubbish Bulldozer was in almost any server or desktop when it was released but Piledriver looks to be cheaper than intel equivalent performance when running virtualised workloads. Considering that most volume is with 2 processor systems and most of those will be used for Virtualisation, it looks like Piledriver hit a bullseye. They should be able to shift a lot of these processors.

Another review indicates the AMD CPUs do well in Crysis3:

dont worry - according to the intel fanboys , its all fake and a patch will `restore` intel to where they should be
