well it just goes to show how low some of you will go to drag me into this, shame really cus it just kills the thread, you lot already know i hate the 360 so i steer clear of commenting anymore, same old same old, i comment on games mostly and not argue wots best because as i said you already know!!! so its was just lame of jim to bring me into this when he already know's my view (dunno if he is the biggest xbox fanboy for taking offense to my old ps3 comments) so in future lads if its a topic of xbox vs ps then leave me out of it!!!! dont even mention my name!!!! and for all those that still dont know i dont like the 360 i sold it to buy a ps3, yup £300 for my xbox360 and paid £310 for my us ps3!!

you didn't have to post, you could have ignored the thread, or you could have commented and passed comment like a normal human being, however no, you chose the gtech approach. As for the matter at hand, I personally (having played both but owning neither) think that the 360 is the better console, however if you could hold off you may want to see if you can pick up the 360 premium with HDMI if/when it is released, online support for the 360 looks IMO like the best there is so far, shame the console has no wireless

glad to see the thread back on track lol, thanks for all the advice ppl, decided to go ahead and get a hd tv with this paycheck, then look at the market again next month and get a console then, im 90% sure that the console I get will be a 360 just because of the online element and games available at the min. Not disrespecting the PS3 in any way just seems like for the forseeable future there are more games and features that I would use, give the PS3 time to grow a bit.

by and large, multi-platform games are best on the 360. every single comparison video supports this, mainly lighting is the key factor the 360 wins on

both systems REALLY need an hdtv to shine - if you don't have HD, better to spend your cash on a PS2

If you don't have a HDTV, get a Wii. Actually get a Wii anyway. You will save many pounds, get to use the first console since forever that isn't the same as the last console with twice the power, and have the likes of Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Smash Bros to look forward to.

As regards to the Wii, i think i may get one of them soon. They look excellent for when you have a load of mates around! And a bit of beer. May need to get a lcd tv guard or somthin though

probably not. but a frightening percentage of 360 and ps3 owners don't even know what HD is, let alone use it. think they'll notice dynamic lighting ?

i'm not a fan of the "good games later" approach. and right now, honestly, it's a struggle to find must-have games for the wii that warrant the sticker price. for the cost of trauma center (a DS port, no less) you could buy dead rising and condemned. in the end, sheer volume is a winner for me - i'd rather have two good games than one good game. phenomenal games? right now, the wii's got zelda and, erm... well, that's it. the virtual console has lots of fun stuff to offer, but it takes a particular type of gamer to enjoy that. and by the same maths, the ps2 is an even better option than the 360 - for the price of a wii with wiisports, or a 360 core unit with bugger all, i could get a ps2 with okami, we love katamari, guitar hero 2 (with guitar) and gta vice city.

This has been the problem for a few months for me.

I went looking at PS3's/Wii's/Xbox's at the weekend as I do around once a month.

The Xbox had around 20 games I'd like to play, probably 10 of those I'd be excited about or a regular user, the PS3 had.......3 games on it, none of which I'd be confident I'd be playing in 3 months time, the wii had about 3 that i'd play on my own, and about 8 that would be great in a group, so the xbox seems to be currently leading the way. I'll wait and see what happens with the games on the others, I could always pickup a PS3 - potentially Revision 2 at a lesser cost later, if and when games start appearing. I'll probably pickup a wii at the weekend just for the group aspect.
