Bloody fantastic game, running it on high/medium, looks gorgeous. What surprised me the most was how different SP was from MP, I'll hide in that house I thought, be safe there. 30seconds later someone removes 2 walls of the house with a grenade. That never happened in MP
lol, i decided to take out all the supports on one building (no walls) in the end 1/4 of the room was left standing held only by one support, bit odd but ah well can't all be perfect can it.
im going to drive a jeep into a building - i have just decided

should be faster than torrent for you.
I tried the sandbox, loads of weapons and stuff you can shove in and play with, apparently there is a Nuke... gotta find it...
It crashed right after Helena got whacked. Off to try again.
Just had a brief play, looks good but its rather jittery with a 8800GTS. DX10 isn't going to be worthwhile until the hardware is there that can handle it.
Well, these are first generation DX10 cards and that's why I'm holding off from moving up - I'm waiting for the 10.1 releases to kick butt during Q1/2008
Aww man, I had a huge post here typed up and then I accidently hit Ctrl-W. Damn
OK here it is in a nutshell, apologies if it's blunt but this is the craic...
1) Stop moaning about performance. Crysis is developed for PCs a couple of years ahead of what we have.
2) Crysis uses huge, amounts of video memory and as such with textures running at high, you're looking at needing a *minimum* of 512mb to run either high res *or* 4x antialiasing. Not both - 768mb or more for that!
3) Those of you with 8800 GTS 320mb cards (like me) can run at a decent nativr res, but you *must* set the textures to medium to keep the frame rate acceptable. I also set shadows to medium. With everything else set to High I can happily run at 1280x1024 and get a perfectly playable, smooth game. Unless you're really anal, you won't tell the difference with the textures.
I know this because I've had the Crysis beta, and in the beta forums there are plenty of people moaning about how it runs, and also lots of stickies about this, heh!
I'm getting about the same... more my junk connection than anything I think... Cheers though! I'll stick to ye olde torrents. Worst thing is I downloaded it while i worked a ten hour shift today and came in dying to play after a crushingly pants day in work, and the bloody exe is corrupted. Re-downloading... ARG.
