Crysis demo out tomorrow

GAH!!! Just woke up, DL had finished, installed, and there doesnt seem to be 1920x1200 available!!! NO!!! Or even the next ones down - 1680x1050 or 1440x900. Anyone who has a 24" monitor having this problem???

1920x1200 works for me (24"), your game hasent detected widescreen for some reason.

Well it deffo runs like poo on mine even with 163.69 drivers high settings 15-40. There must be something wrong.

Well, managed to get 1920x1200 by using DVI instead of VGA, very odd. But anyway, Chucked everything on medium and looks great, 35+ when moving about (even in foliage) but drops to 25-30 when in fire fights.

Thats with the latest offical ones - so not tried the hotfix ones yet. There seems to be quite a bit of scope for tweaking, but even at medium its a great looking game. I couldnt notice that much differnece at High - well not without really looking, but it plays ok too... Didnt shoot down as many trees as I thought I would (Not enough bloody ammo) and the big ones take a while to do... Mind you I turned the physics down a bit, that might have an effect.

Demo itself was ok, didnt think it was awesome, but tbh I'm not really after the realistic parts (well as real as fighting Koreans on a tropical island with a nanosuit can be) but more the Sci-Fi bits. Not blown away, but I'll still get it.

Strangely lots of bandwidth for DL though - though it would be chocka for ages!

Gave it a try, it runs OK on medium settings at 1440x900 but it's on laptopvideo2go drivers, and definately not the latest ones. AND it's on Vista, lol.

whats up keith. i tried it too on my laptop and it ran real bad at medium. i have to disagree with your comment about it looking great at medium because imo it doesnt look any better then oblivion on medium settings with no AA.

this game was meant to be played ain maximum settings to fully enjoy the experience. great game btw

Damn, this game is awesome. Dispite this being a "Pre Release Demo", it's running quite nicely here. Admittedly I'm using medium settings @ 1680x1050 but it still looks very nice indeed

i dont think any of its dx10 effects, im only using dx9 and is another level from anything else

i downloaded the beta 169.01 drivers for vista 64 bit becos the fps i was getting was depressing.

but i cant get it to install. it keeps crashing after extraction and during setup?

any tips?
