    No demos available, sorry.

I think it uses secuROM, but there's an offline and online version of the game. The online game runs through steam so there's no need for the disc. You need it for the offline version.

The offline version lets you use modded tracks and cars that you wouldn't be allowed online, the steam copy must be kept standard, although you can add different skins to the cars, in the F-3000 online races i use different F1 skins for the cars.

My name through steam is andy3563

    Re: GTR EVO thread

There's a demo on Steam of Race 07 (which GTR Evo is essentially an expansion pack for).

    Re: GTR EVO thread

With the thread about a new F1 game in the gaming news thread seaming popular thought i'd post this.

    http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=7288

It's an F1 mod with the full 06 grid, adapted from the rfactor mod for race 07, works in evolution too.

    Re: GTR EVO thread

wow. i had a cracking game with Mblaster today.

we was racing with mini's in half filled server in the first race. forgot what the track was but it was great fun. he finished 4th after leading 3rd for ages while me i was second to last.

i went off track very early on the race making me 6-7seconds behind the nearest driver. i then slipped again in the 3rd\4th lap and was now 15seconds behind and thought of giving up as i was dead last but something happened. the guy i was chasing messed up later down the race and i ended up being within 3-4 seconds of him

I then overtook him in the last lap and tried to keep my cool and was really cautious when taking corners as i didn't wanna mess up again so he eventually cached up in the 2nd to last corner and was ahead of me but the LAST corner i took it brilliantly and accelerated past him and finished 0.1seconds ahead!! it was neck and neck throughout the last straight to the finishing line but because i took the last corner better, i accelerated quicker then he did!

Even though i came near to last i enjoyed it sooo much. I have NEVER had a race like that nore have i enjoyed such an intense race in any console racing game. this game is truly breathtaking and i highly recomend you try it

2nd race was in brange hatch i think its called. it was a great race i did a good quali lap startith 7th on the grid. at the start of the race, some idiot bumped into me in the first corner so i was fighting from last place again on a 25 player race with mini's again. i managed to claw my way back to 14th going into the final lap and i was about to overtake and go 13th but urghhh had to quit the game has the phone was ringing and the wife diddnt wanna pick it up for me!!

great game i will give it a 9/10

    Re: GTR EVO thread

Online is comletely hit and miss, half the cars don't make it through the first corner without going off most of the time. If you manage to keep it on the track throughout you've got a good chance of getting a good position.

This was a good race, second corner at brands and i've already got damage. Aswell as that mess forming behind.

    Re: GTR EVO thread

I have GTR, GT Legends, plan on buying GTR 2 shortly and now see this.

I wonder if there's a legit way of using mixing cars from all games with the tracks from all games?
I dont see any Lambo's or Ferrari's in this one and I quite liked thrashing them about

There's a mod that brings in many of the GT Legends cars to this, but as yet no farrari's, no 996s, no lambo's.

There'll be more mods on the way though as the games still very new, if you get GTR2 though there's lots of mods for that too.

There's loads of tracks if you look under the race 07 files that work with GTR evo.

Most of the mods though like the F1 mod work only in the offline game, custom skins work in both online and offline.

There are countless f3000 F1 skins though which you can use online, and if you get a skin from the older f1 cars the F3000 cars really look the part.

Well I finally got this, and tweaked the setup so my pad was more or less controllable.

It's fun Though I can't drive many of the cars all that well yet

But I've just gone with the Steam one at the moment - does that mean I can't add tracks?

I got the steam version too and was able to add tracks just fine, it'll be in the directory /Steam/steamapps/<usrname>/race07/GameData/Locations

I got the Top Gear track working fine with that, although I moved back to uni and haven't brought my wheel along with me because there was no room in the car Hopefully I'll be going back to get it soonish though, so I can get back to some racing.

It makes Forza 2 look like the best racing game ever? Is that the most sensible thing for GTR EVO to be doing?

What if peeps play Forza instead after that show?
