    Re: RIP Duke Nukem Forever

Is this being set up for a 'small group of individuals buys the assets and releases whatever game they can' story to explain how DNF doesn't live up to the expectations of a never compromised game development plan over 12 years?

If you knew about the game you would realise they changed game engine 3 (or more) times, as well as changed companies they worked with

Was a good idea....but no self control for time, and running over meant a better engine was out so they went to that....and had to start all over again...

You could be on to something here. Perhaps they were only out to show Romero that they could outdo him - he only spent about three years gazing at his own navel, and even released the game afterwards. Now he's probably all like "awww man, they made me look like a project manager who does accounting as a hobby, instead of a hard-core coding-obsessed drama queen"

shame they are gone but i suppose it was inevitable in current times that any company not pulling profit is gonna struggle and go under

Someone will most likely buy the IP and it will see the light of day. It would be really cool if EPIC bought it and turned it into one of their legendary shooters!

Thank God it's dead. I'd rather and remember the original game with fondness. Now, where did I put my bubblegum...

It was already the Chinese Democracy of gaming to be fair I think if it's anywhere near as close to completition as they've claimed it'll get snapped up by someone regardless, it's easy money at the end of the day.
