Is this being set up for a 'small group of individuals buys the assets and releases whatever game they can' story to explain how DNF doesn't live up to the expectations of a never compromised game development plan over 12 years?

13 years lol did they not post not that long ago that it was almost finished i take it that was another lie lol
If you knew about the game you would realise they changed game engine 3 (or more) times, as well as changed companies they worked with
Was a good idea....but no self control for time, and running over meant a better engine was out so they went to that....and had to start all over again...
You could be on to something here. Perhaps they were only out to show Romero that they could outdo him - he only spent about three years gazing at his own navel, and even released the game afterwards. Now he's probably all like "awww man, they made me look like a project manager who does accounting as a hobby, instead of a hard-core coding-obsessed drama queen"
I guess at the minimum they showed how *not* to manage a project..

Well he certainly took forever to die.
Are these the same people the goverment uses for its new IT systems?
Someone will most likely buy the IP and it will see the light of day. It would be really cool if EPIC bought it and turned it into one of their legendary shooters!
Thank God it's dead. I'd rather and remember the original game with fondness. Now, where did I put my bubblegum...
Had some great times with the original, but who actually believed the sequel would see the light of day?
anyone think that the IP is now damaged ? cant see anyone picking it up for maybe a good 5 years or so
duke nukem 3d had fantastic multiplayer, that in some ways has yet to be bettered - combined with the fact map creation was so easy even i manged to make a few yes d3d had strippers, but if shadow warrior had come out first that's the one we would remember
