Great games, but nowhere in the GT class. Infact lots of people even prefer GT5P to Forza 3.

Lets hope GT5 continues as being the best racing game in it's class.

I'll throw it at you as well then: according to? IMHO they are certainly in the GT class of games, and they're about as good subjectively. Better in some ways, worse in others.

Lets hope GT5 continues as being the best racing game in it's class.
Why would you hope that, unless you had shares in Sony? I'm certainly hoping that GT5 is the best when it is released (because it's so late now that it's not even competing with Forza 3 - it lost that battle by not even turning up to the fight), but I hope it'll be improved on in the future by games on any platform.

    Re: Gran Tourismo 5 (2010 release<subject ot change>)

As much as i'm gonna love GT5, it's not the be all and end all. No cockpit view on 80% of the cars is really annoying (don't know about you guys but that's the view i use in every other game) It's taken them this long and it's that limited

Gran Turismo 5 – Cockpit Verification & Two New Videos

Posted on June 18th, 2010 in Console

It seems like the confusion about whether or not the 800 standard models in Polyphony Digital’s upcoming Gran Turismo 5 title will have a cockpit view is over as only the 200 premium cars have been confirmed to have interior view.

That means the majority of cars in Gran Turismo 5 will only be drivable from the bumper cam view that is known from older GT titles. Furthermore, the standard models don’t seem to have received a major graphical update as the first video below shows. Aside from the rather unimpressive graphics, the video also highlights on of GT’s biggest problems – Weak sounds.

Another thing that has finally been clarified is the different types of damage. All 1000 cars in GT5 will receive dents and scratches and damage will affect the physics off all cars. Deformable or dislocated body parts however are restricted to the 200 premium cars in game.
    From here

This will be a great game, but there's plenty of room for improvement.

I don't know why anyone would prefer GT5P to Forza 3 as the only thing GT5P has going for it is online - which is awful even compared to Forza 1.

I'm with Kalniel on this, I hope its a good game when it comes out due to the time constraints, but if its not got cockpit view on all cars as mentioned by Andy (I thought it meant just not modelled cockpits but you would still gets the typical set-up in each car ?) thats already a blackmark.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

why? because we want to play a racing game thats better than previous similar games otherwise why buy GT5 if Forza 3 is better? Whether its GT5, F1 2010 or even Rfactor 2, we want those games to be better than previous racing titles.

I said this in another forum and i will say it here again:

GT5 should only include 200 of those premium cars. what the hell is the point in including cars that are done half arsed??

Hmm, sorry i don't get that. I've said many times i'm looking foward to the game, and it will be a great game. The problems with the game are perfeclty valid that i pointed out.

If you disagree with what i've said, make a debate out of a specific point.

Mabee you think it's great that 800 cars are just ports from GT4 with little graphical improvement, no proper damage model or internal view. Or that they'll try and make money from selling cars later on.
I thought we were waiting so long as this was going to be a giant leap forward, turns out that i was 80% wrong.

But i'm still buying it and it'll still be a good game. Mabee i should just concentrate on the good. But the info released in the last few days is bad and i thought we'd discuss it. That's OK i'd assume?

    Re: Gran Tourismo 5 (2010 release<subject ot change>)

My apologies, I forgot the sarcasm tags.
