Minecraft?

I've had it for ages now, It's fun but I got bored quickly because it isn't much of a 'game' just yet.

I`ve spent the past few days building an underwater base with an underwater tunnel from my tree house to my normal house Only issue I have is getting to my floating glass castle. Thankfully on multiplayer /jumpto comes to my aid

Who needs storyline when you can build cool stuff.

The joys of multiplayer is that you can also fill friends houses with pigs thanks to pig spawners or build rollercoasters.

I don't really like the graphics in the game but that's just my opinion.

The game isn't meant to be super graphical, its made by one person, it's just meant to be fun.

Typical of todays gamer though, i can be as crap as you like but as long as the graphics are bling it must be the dogs danglies

Or, as I was thinking the other day, is it case of those of us who don't think "good graphics = good game" are maybe old enough to remember the days when the level of graphics used in Minecraft would actually blow you away?

That's the thing though. I could waste several hours today playing robotron or speedball 2, space invaders, tempest, the list is endless and enjoy them more than most the tat out today.

Bought Minecraft after watching a couple of vids on Youtube.
I think it's fantastic, good old fashioned gaming.
I had endless hours of fun with old text based adventure games 30 years ago and Minecraft takes me right back to those times.
I almost want to get my sheets of A4 and sellotape out and start making maps like in the good old days.

Minecraft is certainly among the most addictive games I've played - my little sister is still totally hooked. I did find that after a while I got a little bored and wanted to wait for some updates - but since Notch hit the 1 million sales mark it would appear that he's doing more holiday making than programming.. who can really blame him though!

Recently found this game. Soooooo addictive. My glass pyramid roof with cascading water features leaves me very satisfied......but i don't know why

Wouldnt mind it, never played mp before. Suffering from the Java bug in the game so getting intermittent crashing (which has stopped me playing for a few weeks out of frustration), but mp sounds like a 'larf'. Drop me a message or something!

hi funke, first time i have been on MP as well actually, started it yesterday. i have got a server up and running and i managed to sneakily get all my ports forwarded and check i can connect from work just now and it seems to be fine. i will PM you the ip address join and leave whenever you like - i will be leaving the server up permanently.

If its night when you first start it would probably be best to disconnect and go and make a brew or something so you get some daylight to get some building done / torches made.

please don't blow up my pyramid house the creepers are doing a good enough job of that on their own

ill be on from about 17:00 till.. whenever really. anyone else who wants in just PM me or post here - preferably post here so it keeps this thread bumped and maybe we can get a couple more peeps.
