I see some people have made a tunnel system (I got lost in it last night) Do most of the tunnels lead to other peoples buildings? I want to get safer access to other areas at night, there is a rail network in progress, but for now I'd imagine it's quicker to tunnel through.
Hahah the pads werent meant to work for the doors, i set them up to some hidden tnt hoping someone would step on it and set it off, but alas a creeper stepped on it lol

Should be fixed now, completely forgot about the nether so hadn't been copying the changes I made from one world to another.

    Re: Minecraft?

What would people suggest to make sure to learn via single player mode first before attempting multiplayer by joining a server, and are there any guides that anybody would recommend in doing so?

Spot on IMHO - I watched a load of youtubes (this series - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UdEF...0520313D07F366) before starting SP, read as much of the wiki as I could stomach before getting itchy but the best way to learn is to play. It's easier on an MP because you've got more experienced users to help you along the way.

I managed to get on for a short while (30 mins turned into nearly 5 hours!) last night, quite proud of the mini castle vw and I have built - bromance mountain - a lot of fun despite our aides disappearing to make some sort of glass railway? () And the constant detonation of creepers near our wall.

The death chest, btw - fantastic.

Top work Allen - it still amazes me how a few people can build so much!

Don't forgot to lay down a trail of breadcrumbs so you can find your way home.

    Re: Minecraft?

Was speaking to Bagna last night, when 1.8 comes out we thought it would be a good idea bot build a little city first and run a rail network around it.

As for exploring more, that does sound good. We could lay rail down as we god, although we do need to get some more iron ore for the rail.

Ahh it was you who dug down a bit in the cave, I didn't think I'd done that, well I've extended it all the way down to bedrock now, I started out a branch tunnel and hit a motherload of coal.

I never seem to find much Iron or diamonds, but this is the 2nd time I've hit a massive coal seam. (I got about 140 coal out of just that one seam)

going to do some TNT experiments on SP before I use the stack I've build up on the MP

According to the Trivia section in the compass entry on minecraftwiki the image of a compass in your statistics page works. This means you only ever need to craft a compass once across all maps, and you can free up an inventory slot. Just check your stats screen.

This apparently also works for clocks.

It's easier to carry one with you still, but if you get lost without one all is not lost!

I thought compasses pointed towards the spawn point? I've never actually used one, I've only ever made one as an ingredient for a map.
