With the exception of what Madduck said, not really. I wondered whether it would wear your body out quicker, only to be told that it actually keeps your body in better shape.

My resting heart rate, when not in condition - last time I had the check I hadn't done any exercise in months - was 54bpm, and my heart rate when doing strenuous cardiovascular activity is around 140-160.

My blood pressure is textbook perfect, as are a number of other measured levels. Of course, high metabolism (not talking people who are simply skinny with big appetites, but those who burn through calories and operate like radiators) isn't going to override serious medical conditions or heriditary illnesses, but all other things being equal, it's a lot better for you than a regular metabolism. Plus you get to eat what you like. Bonus.

I've got a scarily low blood pressure, most doctors/nurses have pointed that out. When I was recently in hospital the nurse was checking my blood pressure out for about 15 minutes and just staring at me, I told her that it's meant to be like that and she told me it's the lowest out of anyone she's ever seen. I can't remember the figures exactly but it means when I do things like stand or sit up then I see funny colours for about 10-20 seconds.

My fitness is pretty good. Training for a half-marathon at the moment. I'm not sure if there's going to be one anywhere anytime soon, but even if there's not I'll probably do one myself.

I don't suppose anyone knows much about running? Or any decent web-resources for it?

It's fairly easy, you don't need a website for it. It's just like walking, but faster.

    There's always one.

Got to admit that "It's just like walking, but faster. And you need to increase the arc range of the leg, which at higher speeds means that both feet leave the ground for short periods of time, increasing proportionately with speed." doesn't have quite the same punch.

Even so, the 'gots the ****s race' image made me laugh.
