Keep a track of your projects, make yourself a "portfolio" but not of the work...of the time, efficiences and make notes of WHAT you change in your working day, WHY it helped and HOW you intend to take that forward to the next project.
Some times bosses need to be showen how well you're doing, just because you're proud of it
Show them (not big headed.....just from pride) and DONT ask for anything....yet.

Its not too bad, although not amazing, of course you can earn more doing other things but if you like it ect.. i have 18 year old mates earning more, but they dont enjoy what they do so count yourself lucky.
If you dont like it then leave or say something!!!
How old are you'?
im 22 turning 23 soon ad work right in the city of london
Unfortunately like everyone else says, I think you're gonna just to have to suck it up. There's nothing wrong with asking about a raise if they offered you it verbally, but to be honest a verbal promise is as good as the paper it's written on.
IMHO you're best off learning as much as you can, and looking to get into the enterprise space if your company does any of that (Websphere, Weblogic etc) - I would have thought the salaries with that skillset would be much higher.
Remember when looking for your next job, you don't earn £x, you earn £x+10k and you're looking to move to a more challenging role....
Sometimes in life you have to wait for things and im afraid this is one of those times. There are plenty of people who are all older than you that would kill for the same opportunity, but instead are stuck in low paid menial jobs with no prospects/potential.
umm i good point chris. there are 1000000 of people who would love to be in my position. i know how hard it is to get an opportunity like this has i waited nearly a year after graduating to finaly land my dream job. during the long wait i thought i wasnt gunna land it and nearly gave up so i know where your comming from chris.
i can say that im lucky that i have found a job with such high prospects/potential at an early age and things can only get better fin the near future. hopefuly i will be earning 40-50k+ before i reach 35
Managers in McDonald's MIGHT earn the same as you, nut they have responsiblity for other staff, health and safety and sales targets.
I started on 16.5K and have gradually moved up to just under 19K in 2 years - I've a degree in Multimedia.
17K isn't a bad salary - could be worse.

Tbh i think that if your working in city of london then you need more than that.. I take home quite a bit more ( not bragging just to set the scene) and i almost struggle to pay everything then afford anything remotely nice afterwards so i think you should be on a bit more.. you got a degree to...!!!
If your that good then you can go alot further than 45k But then again it all depends what industry your in...
i know a person who works has a system admin and earns around 22k. is it true that a programmer usualy earns more than a system admin?
There are people in easy jobs all over that will earn more than you, its very hard to generalise I think.
Just stick to it, have a look about, is there other jobs that seem the same as yours, what do they pay?
