This doesn't really have the hallmarks of al-qeada. When you compare this to say 9/11, which was intended to destroy, Americas 3 most prominent symbols of power and spread widespread chaos and were it not for a few heroes sacrificing their own lives would have gone without a hitch. It was a perfectly planned and executed attack on the things Americans held most dear. This is 2 yahoos with a can of petrol and a bomb belt.

I doubt this is a build up to something bigger simply because without the element of surprise it is much harder to pull off. Al-qeada doesn't play these games. Hopefully this is just a small group of narrow-minded bigots, who will spend the rest of their lives in the deepest darkest hole we have.

Well since 2 were in london aswell and Glasgow airport was gonna be busy and security would be higher in Edinburgh as the Queen was there I reckon thats why Glasgow was hit. Still wouldnt be surprised if there are some more devices found around the UK.

I watched an interview of an eye-witness account, infact the bloke was involved with detaining one of the men alledgedly involved in the "attack" at Glasgae Airport.

    ON CNN!!!!!!!!!!

His first words were along the lines of, "I went around the corner to have a fag when...."

My first thought was that the use of the word "fag" might seem a bit odd to our transatlantic brethren, then I laughed, but he then went on to give a very vivid and articulate account of what had happened along with some lovely colloquialisms. Good on the bloke for assisting the Polis and the public.

According to himn one of the people in the car was on fire after exiting the car and after he was put out by someone with an extinguisher her tried to fight the Police.

As a side note - anyone that believes that there is some government conspiracy is with regard to this or any other terrorist act is a bit devoid from reality. Most events are far more simpler than fantasists would have you believe. Occam's Razor folks.

People are stupid and incompetent in all walks of life and therefore are no different when it comes to terrorism. Infact i would say doubly so because the aim and desire pushes out all rational objective thought.

If I wanted to cause hundreds of deaths per month I could do so with very little ingenuity involving less than 10 people an no bombing. The achille's heal of alot of terrorist bombers is their need for some sort of spectacular and some sort of recognition.

I think a lot of people don't like to or cant accept that some lone nut wants to kill them and everyone like them. It's easier to believe it's some huge conspiracy for some.

Even if they are all genuine terrorist attacks, am I the only one who is concerned that they ALL could have been more serious if they'd all been competently conceived and executed?

The police were not at the scene on all the bungled attempts, given the way things have played out with the recent "attack" I strongly believe it is unrelated to Al-Qaeda...

I'll elaborate tomorrow, bedtime now me thinks...

What you've got to take into account is that these terror cells are now under surveillance. The usual materials they use are now much more difficult to come by due to tightened procedures when acquiring them. Any attacks would be made using whatever they can lay their hands on, and they would be hurriedly and poorly planned so as to fit into gaps or lapses of security and surveillance.

And don't forget, over the past 12 months a number of known terrorists have absconded while under the controversial control order (thanks to the civil liberties brigade saying they can't be locked up because they weren't caught with bomb in hand) and to this day are still at large.

And to all the Doubting Thomas's who suggest these latest attacks are staged by the government. Find me one person who's prepared to drive a blazing car through an airport terminal, with little chance of surviving to spend the the reward, just to help increase the popularity of the PM.

Oh yeh they have, and most of the time its muslims.. which you read about.. I mean its almost like they want us to hate the religion..

And people will now, well tbh most peopole have already stereotyped any muslim that they are part of some group.. Its a shame because obviously people are not all like that, and i seem to remember that prolific nail bomber was a white man from hampshire so..

Tbh the security should be stupendous all the time. it annoys me when they up it after an attack it should be running at full tilt all the time.

Not saying they have done a bad job at all because they havnt but, there should be no higher gear, as they should already be in it
