A fair point arbitor... But that costs money, I dread to think how much money the government has spent already because of these attacks the last few days.

Think of over-time for several hundred, if not thousand or so people. Let alone all the other costs. It's going to cost tens of millions for sure.

Yes it would cost more, but if you relax then bad things happen, im sure they can up taxes or make somethingmore expensive to compensate.. I would have thought that the countrys saftey was very important and isnt really something to cut back on..

upping taxes isn't an option, there are far too many people on or under the breadline at the moment, and with rising house prices and various other costs then the country will grind to a halt if people can no longer afford to work etc.

This is just another cost of terrorism, loss of human life may well be the first and most prominent effect, but the backlash can be absolutely terrible

Thing is though, the Muslim community also condemns the attacks. I'd amend it to "most of the time its Islamic Extremists", who are completely different from Muslims

Why waste tax money on useless services?

If this is the best the 'terrorists' can do, we have it covered. We don't need a pointless and useless organisation like TSA in this country, thank-you very much!

Raising security is a nice idea but time and again the terrorists success or failure is completely down to them. These guys were amateurs and easily stopped by a couple of bobbies and a cab driver. Admittedly they made a big mess but they didn't give anyone anything more then cuts, bruises and a hell of a shock.

A well funded, smart terrorist is hard to stop even with the highest security. You could have had the entire SAS walking the streets of London, backed up by choopers, tanks and anything else you can name on 7/7 and it wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference. If you dont know who the terrorist is before he leaves the house that morning then it's pretty much in the hands of god.

Think about it, if you left your house now with a big rucksack, filled with whatever generic nastiness, where could you go? I could walk into a huge police station, 2 or 3 big train-stations, about the same number of bus stations, couple of big stadiums, a few army bases, god knows how many big shopping centres are within an hours drive of me.

All these places have a constant police/security presence, but unless they know someone is coming there isn't much they can do til it's to late. That's why intelligence and the help of the Muslim community is so important.

Im pretty surer if someone put there mind to it they could do alot more damage than these amatuers.

So its always worth thinking about, after all they could fly a plane into london.. or do any number of things worse than a two people driving a car into an airport.. which isnt ass organised and calculated as an attack could be

I'm pretty sure that when everything is worked out that you'll find that these terrorists will be British born therefore you would have to bomb Britain which IS their country. Very sad.

I'd certainly like to see some high profile demonstrations by the so called "muslim community" showing that they denounce these actions. It would go along way to stop any stereotyping and avoid a backlash.

Yes but its being drilled into everyone..

The same way that a stabbing in london occurs i instantly think black youth gang, not because i want to, but because its often the case and its so highly documented when it does happen..

Yea i think security should be tighter all the time, but tbh if these guys are determined then even high security wont stop them, unless of course you go back to what things were like here in Northern Ireland during the 70's and 80's, where the army stopped and searched every car, and you had to walk through portacabins to get into the city centre... which isn't good, and isn't going to happen

I hate the way that this is making us hate Muselims as well... not all Muselims are like this, in fact very few of them support this kind of thing except the extremeist, as far as i know anyway, Im not a Muselim so I don't really know, but i would love to know a 'normal' Muselims response

its bloody pathetic with all this terrorist attack! its putting a bad name to muslims in general because mostly all terror attacks in the USA and here are from muslims according to reports from the news etc....

why do these terrorists continue to do this and think that there god will forgive them and send them to heaven?

Well, let's face it who else in the UK is likely to detonate a bomb?

I find this whole Muslim thing pretty weird as I have lived over 15 years of my life in the Middle East and never comes across a loony like this. Sure when we decided to join in a pointless mass-murder of Iraqi civilians a lot of Arabs were angry and my discount in the souk went from 40% to 10%, but I expected some comeback for being part of a nation that signed up to such a weaselly, cowardly, despicable act. There were a few demonstrations outside the American Embassy, and a few bits of Arabic graffiti along the lines of 'Americans go home', but no violence.

I'm assuming that the people in the UK who act like such dicks have been wound up by some uber-loony somewhere. In the UAE, Saudi or Bahrain, etc. that wouldn't be allowed, so people just get angry and write letters to the newspapers.

I Also have to admit that I had thought that the principle that, if you set fire to yourself, your clothes only burn off the publicly acceptable parts of your body was a Hollywood myth, but apparently not. The loony who tried to emulate Johnny Storm was left with only the groin-and-bum-protecting parts of his trousers. Purely in the interests of science it would have been interesting to see if a buxomly beauteous terroristette in the same circumstances would have been left with a tattered loincloth-type affair and a scrap of nipple-concealing blouse.

Still, they seem keen, perhaps they will try again and we will get to find out.

Lets be fair here. Terrorists in the past never stopped us and they will never stop, I think Gordon Browns speech (despite his ill fitting suit) was actually pretty good.

And for seconds I don't see Muslim Council of Great Britain or in fact any organisation rushing out to condemn these acts or people behind it.

Quite scary stuff, I've stood at those doors so many times before. My mates were meant to fly to Ibiza at 7pm that night but got diverted to Prestwick Airport. Also, my gf's brother and missus were meant to fly back down to London on the Sunday but got a train instead. Hits home more when it affects folk you know!

so a 7th person has been arrested accordding to BBC News...
