Go in to your local natwest branch and speak to the manager (or the most senior person around) whenever you are free and get them to deal with it. It'll cost them more that £2000 in man hours dealing with you soon enough

Yep, not doubting that mate, thats why you should get onto the ombusdsman.
The money is better off in your pocket than theirs, unless of course, you have had more than 3 claims in the last 3 years (might be 5 years), in which case, most places wont even give you a quote, and nat west will know this, and will charge you whatever they like.
Natwest banking is totally seperate from Natwest insurance so the physical branches have nothing to do with and no control over the insurance group.Go in to your local natwest branch and speak to the manager
Never had a claim before, however as I've menionted one of the reasons that I've dropped the claim was down to the fact that my insurance quote doubled for the next two years due to this claim, so the decision of claiming for two thousand pounds was out weighed by the increase in insurance costs and the likley hood or reciving an amicable settlement in a reasonable ammount of time from Natwest.Yep, not doubting that mate, thats why you should get onto the ombusdsman
I shall be pursuing this as hard as possible, but not for the money as the claim is now dropped but for judgment on the Natwest appointed claims handlers of Cunningham Lindsey.
It is Inevitable.....
May be worth subscribing to the consumer magazine Which. There are cases like this occasionally in there magazine and if your a memeber they may pursue the insurance company for you.
Also maybe worth a call to the Citizens Advice Bureau???
Might be worth looking into taking them to the small claims court. It will cost Shatwest more to contest such a small claim in court than it will to simply pay up.
As for proof you should have an paper invoice/email etc with the invoice number on. From this Scan would be able to confirm what was bought, for how much and by which card holder etc.
iirc my folks are with AA home insurance and they cover everything including £10ks worth of bicycles in the garage for very little per year. They paid out quick when they got burgled a few years ago.

Some of these items are over a year old - so not all paper invoices are left, and I've said about 4 times in this thread now, I've offered them print out of the scan account/emails and this is unacceptable. Its not about what usable to prove ownership, its the stalling and delaying tactic they are using to not pay out. They have all the info on the items purchased from scan but claim it is not down to them to verify the items - but my responsability so the only way I can do this is to get print outs of the scan accounts and send them - which is unacceptable in their eyes, or show them the online account, which is also acceptable. Companies like scan are helpful and I'm sure would provide duplicate invoices on request, but again this is time and hassle which should not be required. As for proof you should have an paper invoice/email etc with the invoice number on

I feel your pain - I to had a run in with natwest insurance, for water damage to the house
But as I'm a complete and utter pain in the backside I didn't give up - and eventually had my entire roof replace and all the flooring downstairs approx £15 K worth of work.
I to had a loss adjuster from Cunningham Lyndsey call to the house to asses the claim - and it was at that point that the claim process started to slow down.
What I would advise is that the people or persons you need to convince are Cunningham Lyndsey as they are the appointed loss adjuster and ultimatly they agree any claims and then pass on the approval to natwest who inturn issue any moneys on the loss adjusters recomendations. So invest some serious time and effort in annoying the hell out of three individuals (the loss adjuster who came to your home, the claim handler at cunningham lyndsey, and also the supervisor of the claim handler.
find out if you can the loss adjusters name and email them continiusly also copy in on any emails the claim handler - also find out the name of the claim handlers supervisor and email her/him.
If you ring Cun Lyn you can ask for all the info I have suggested. - at least fire off one or two emails a day just for ****s and giggles (thats what I did - and ended up with a refurbished house)
need any more help - message back.
Look Igor ! The thread LIVES !
