Good response to the sexual allegations... Men are the better cooks, they have the quality, but women should have the quantity... So I sort of agree with you but I am a self-proclaimed, part-time sexist...
haha..keep it up, let all men rise and rule the world, enjoy its beauty while women do all our work <--- some people say such things, not me

Is it stealing ? Apsolutely not( legally it may be ). to even think so is a shame.
Real theivery like having your house robbed, Having your rightful money taken by a legal technicality is.
This is so trivial to what else is happening it is just a joke.
Men of real character would not even worry about it.
Britain was renowned right or wrong as a great place, the bit I like was that we
are tollerant and not just a miserable little policemen for slight trespass.
sorry for the spelling to the spelling police.

Tesco have no issues with it. Especially for kids. My 16mnth old daughter always has a snack in the trolley on the way around. We always pay for the items at the checkout.
With all due respect, I think you are being over zealous, " is a shame" ?? "men of real character"?, Please! and dont go "Britain" on it, its not about "Britain" we are just discussing if its theft or not, not tolerance! Tolerance has nothing to do with theft, if you tolerate it, doesnt make it any different.
Plus something being smaller or trivial doesnt make it "nothing"...

I totally agree, in fact the more trivial is sometimes worse.
So you one day eat something, then pay for what it should have been.
Next, you'll maybe eat something paid by weight. Getting dodgy.
Eat, leave the wrapper. Start of theft (in legal terms)
Who knows, if you get away, you may start nicking the little things, then the bigger things.
Eventually, you will be caught, and made to pay for it all, one way or another.
When I was about 13 or so, i used to shoplift choccy bars out of my local, they quickly found out, called my parents. Lucky for me, they didn't prosecute or make me pay for it (they did ban me from the shop for 6 months, with a promise of legal action if I did go back in), but the sheer thought of what could have been was enough. I left that shop well alone for 2 whole years, and I went back and paid off some of it anyway. I never stole anything since.
It's like the one little lie growing out of control, only this is more serious.
OMG... Elyk you chieving tunt
I guess that's how all bank robbers start out... by eating a grape and not paying for it
It's a possibilty..
If it were all different, I could be a right criminal.
Stealing and doing drugs and stuff... oh I has been naughty in my olden days!
I don't agree with it personally... if your child is likely to be hungry / thirsty, then feed them before going shopping.
It's not possible to pay for everything... I have seen people munching through grapes, which obviously can't then be weighed, and leaving empty coke cans on other aisles etc.
Don't see why anyone would be so desperate that they should need to do it.... but that's just my opinion
I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.... It was them that started me drinking.
No. Eating something, then paying for it is not legally theft (I'm with Saracen on this one). Eating something that is paid for by weight (so that you can't possibly pay for what you've eaten), or eating something then dropping the wrapper is theft, full stop. As someone mentioned previously, there's a term for the latter two: 'grazing'. Last time I heard it mentioned was during the last recession....
Personally I think that even if you do have every intention of paying for something, munching on it while you're going round the store is bad manners- and foolhardy- because the shop staff are probably told to be on the lookout for shoplifters, and who's to say whether you're a 'grazer' or just someone who's a bit hungry and impatient? As for children though- while on the one hand I dislike parents who spoil their kids by giving in to their demands, at the same time parenting is obviously a difficult business (hard enough to put me off for the time being, at least) and shutting up your kid by giving them something out of the trolley may well be the least worst option a lot of the time.
Anyway- IMO, if you're going to consume something before paying for it, wait until you get to the checkout. I don't make a habit of it, but if I'm desperately thirsty, and the old biddy in front of me at the checkout is going through her Yours magazine extracting every last coupon, I'll open a bottle of water and have some. My wife is always on some faddy diet or other, and occasionally she can't contain the urge to scoff a packet of crisps while we're waiting. I don't think there's any harm in that, because the checkout girl can see that we're paying for what we've consumed.
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
Tolerance has everything to do with it why worry its not stealing if its paid for.
We are talking about in britain are we not ? we seem to be becoming a pathetic little only do what your told culture now with so manny petty laws so I think my comment is valid.
When I was a child we had a local market and vendors would often give an apple or piece of fruit to a child free it was good PR.
"nothing" is a figure of speach as in trivial.
As long as i pay for the items before i leave the store its not theft.
