Same, except Aria as it took me 3 weeks to get a refund from them and I had to send the faulty item back at my own cost. With the others. I have been fine with. Ebuyer probably one the the fastest refund/return procedures. Once they gave me a refund first and then picked up the item next day.

Logitech are special, there RMA procedure is hassle free plus its fun when they tell you smash things up

    Re: Ebuyer

Well, my Scan refund that i started a thread about last week still hasn't come through. 24 days (non-working days included) after sending an item back to them!!!!! 3 weeks+!

I was told by Scan that by law they have 28 days to refund me.

This is definitely the longest i have ever had to wait for a refund!

    Shortest was with Ebuyer.

My father-in-law was telling me last night that he had a 4 day turn around with Maplin! (Online) That is quite fast.

Strange how some online retailers can process a refund much much quicker than others!?

I think that after 5 days, for every day we have to wait for our refund the retailer must also give us interest on the money owed. This should be law! Maybe that would speed things up for the ones who keep our money for weeks, making thier own interest on our money!!

    Re: Ebuyer

I think ebuyer are the best for customer service, used them only 3 times for RMA's over many years and they were great. Amazon were brilliant too replacing a broken electric razor with shaving gunge in, 1 day after phoning.

Try waiting 4 months for a refund from Southern Electric then you can start complaining

As for asking for interest, have you seen the current interest rates? All they (the retailer) would do is charge you a fee for calculating the interest. There's also a de minimus value that doesn't have to be paid (at least there is in my line of work).

One thing you may be over looking is when something has to be returned.
Within the first 7 days of recieveing something you stand in a far stronger position and most companies will move very quickly to get something sorted out in that time, as you can kick up all sorts of fuss under distance selling regulations.
After that seven days it get more tricky, esp depends on what you request as a responce.
A replacement is often easy to get fairly fast as long as they have it in stock and it's not EoL.
Any company can drag it's feet over refunds, they have 30days to refund you after receiveing your goods.

Best I've had was a while back, graphics card from Novatech, DOA, they did a swapout next day.

Worst was OcUK who strung me along for over 2 months over a faulty graphics card.

Had a DOA corsair PSU from scan it was returned and a replacement sent in 5days (total includeing shipping both ways)

And just for the sake of clarity, quite where that line is is a judgement call. If you moan about a perceived bad service, that's one thing. If you start in on legally actionable matters, that's another. Somewhere in-between is the line.
I am really impressed very nice hands on and we all know exactly where we stand, I applaud you.

I don't know the original issue, however I suspect it would of been far faster if you asked for a replacement(if faulty) or even a different item.

And I defenately think you should of tried to swap the mother-in-law for a monkey butler replacement, esp if it was called Jeeves

    Re: Ebuyer

What surprises me most here is Scan they brag about customer service and win awards yet quite honestly after reading this I think I wouldn't like to buy from them.
Is it the credit crunch or have they always been that bad?

The refund thing hasn't been going for that long. The out of stock 8pm email problem has though
You can never really tell if you're going to have a good or bad experience with the retailers though. If you try a few you'll find a favourite pretty quick.
