I'm pretty sure that is right.

Only thing I can say is that you will need to tell a new insurer that you have been <involved in> an accident, it's part of the application form, and lying on it they can (as they would rather not pay out if they didn't have to) invalidate your insurance.

When I saw the title I thought it would be like the took a dump on it or something like that

Her insurance company will pay for the repairs (that's what they are there for), and she will loose her no-claims bonus (assuming it's not protected). She won't get any points on her licence, you only get that for breaking the law, where as this is just an accident.

A woman, unsupervised, all on her own in a car, with no man around to park or offer words of advice for tricky situations such as not crashing into the car in front if it does something crazy, like slows down or stops?

    Someone has broken the law.

Yes, if you shop around next renewal the other company will ask you if you have been involved in any accidents fault or non fault. Always best to declare it.

IMO always best to ask around at renewal. I brought mine down £100!

Re: Look what an essex girl did to my car

im going to get a replacement car in the mean time but the thing is, i have to pay £4 a DAY for a maximum of 3 weeks as soon as i start using the car while mine is being fixed!

Its either that, or i pay nothing but risk paying £250 in excess if someone crashes into me whilst driving the replacement car again while the £4 i don't have to pay for no excess as i will be protected.

tricky situation im in. i will not be going back to endsleigh thats for sure! i thought the replacement car should be free and protected. umm

Depends on what your insurance covers you for. Is it a free courtesy car while yours in in the dock? Check your agreement.

Re: Look what an essex girl did to my car

Definitely her fault. This will be a routine insurance job with hopefully minimal fuss. This sort of thing happens all the time at roundabouts. My brother did this to someone ages ago; he was looking right as he approached the roundabout, nothing was coming, he expected the car in front to go, it started but stopped, because something else came round the roundabout even though there was more than enough time for the car infront to pull out safely and he rear ended the stopped car. Naughty naughty. Lesson learnt.

Looking at the photo the damage looks to be superficial, that is it's only the bumper that is damaged. That should be a simple swap and silver is a common colour so whichever garage does the repair shouldn't have problems. Is the panel by the number plate damaged?

Good luck anyway. Is a royal PITA, but count yourself lucky, my first accident in 13 years (and my only accident in 19 years) resulted in two crappy old cars being written off. Mine ended up down a bank lying on it's side. My fault too

josh no worries on that front, her insurance will be paying the cost so you are free to continue your no claims discount.

And you think that she doesnt have a clue about her insurance?

The woman sounded as if she just started driving as she didn't have a clue on details about her insurance that day.

The replacement car is unlikely to be a Micra. Therefore, this whole incident can only be seen as a positive.
